More info on the same site as the pictures giving a very brief idea of what is going on in the pictures. It says Kaname offended Leonard during a conversation and he is recalling his past. So it is rather anger/frustration, but probably because Kaname hit a sore spot with Leonard and he feels misjudged unfairly. Therefore he reveals his past.
I can't help but think that any resolution will not end with Leonard's death. (At least not death at the hands of the "good guys"). Whereas most of the bad guys in FMP have either lacked a past, or confirmed the evil in their past, Leonard's memories and background are meant to evoke empathy and tragedy. (Gathering from the pictures and what little information we have been given and making an educated guess.) Of course this sets him up to be redeemable, unlike say... Gauron who's past only reaffirmed our views of the man and the need for Sousuke to defeat him. And even if the audience does not empathize with Leonard, you can be sure Kaname will to a certain extent, thus she will not stand idly by if she sees him facing death. I don't think Sousuke will get his wish granted and kill the smarmy bastard. Maybe he'll just rough him up a little before Kaname steps in.

That's assuming things even get to a showdown between the two, which I hope.
Now if you read more of the summary, it says Sousuke draws closer to the mansion. As in... the mansion which houses Kaname? If so, what is he currently piloting? It's not anything special right? Therefore, how the hell is he gonna have a showdown with Leonard's Belial, when he couldn't even defeat Leonard when he was in the Arbalest?

Correct me if I've got my facts wrong. This just seems to be moving too fast to make the climax happen in the end of this book. It seems too rushed. We still have to figure out what is really going on with Kalinin, how Mithril is gonna get its act together and play a role against bringing down Amalgam, and who (and where in the world) Mr. Gold is (what is he doing?). Maybe Sousuke needs to rescue Kaname, then head off to finish Amalgam. But that just seems to be an odd order of events in my opinion. Well, too many questions really. Anyone else have thoughts on these things?
