How Did You Discover FMP?

I found this anime two weeks ago when I was having a really good two days home alone doing homework, shooting my airsoft gun, and watching anime.
Then... let's just say addiction set in. I didn't like this anime that much at the beginning mostly because I hate almost all mechas, but it was definitely fun to watch, and the plot just kept getting better.
Now, I am griping because I've just run out of episodes.
Oh, *cough* excuse me, I just remembered this topic has been sitting for over eight months and I just umped it. My bad.

My kids went to a sleep over at a friend's house who had Anime On-Demand, and saw episodes of the first season and Fumofu. They came home raving about how cool and funny the show was. So I put it on our Netflix list.
As I said in another thread, we sat down to watch the first episode of Season 1 and in the first 10 minutes or so Sosuke takes out a Hind. I turned to the boys and said "I'm in!" I've always been a fan of Tom Clancy, Larry Bond, Daryl Brown, Harold Coyle and others, so I really like the techno-thriller elements of FMP.
I'm probably a bigger FANatic about the show than my sons are, though they like it a lot too. As soon as we could, went out and got the the thinpack sets for Season 1 and Fumofu, but couldn't wait for a compliation set, and went out and got the TSR DVDs on the days they issued them.
So, yup, the addiction has taken hold and like LeoXio, now I'm annoyed I can't get my hands on any new material. So, I check in here once and awhile for any scrap of news I can glean--just waiting for the day they announce the fourth installment of the anime.

Grr... I like Hinds and don't like mechas... hate it when cool things get pwned by uncool things that don't even obey the laws of physics...in the first 10 minutes or so Sosuke takes out a Hind.
Stay here! we need more people to keep this place alive! So far almost half the posts here that I've seen have been made by the mods. That's not a good sign. So, yup, the addiction has taken hold and like LeoXio, now I'm annoyed I can't get my hands on any new material. I got into it in a boring way. I'd just heard good things about it on online anime communities and when I saw volume 1 on sale I bought it even though it did not look like my kind of thing at all (because of the manly looking mech DVD cover) but I fell in love right away and went and bought all the rest in a very short space of time, oh and I swapped the covers for the character ones on the other side I think it was mostly Sousuke I fell in love with

Years ago I had a friend that would periodically have anime parties at her house, which was basically just an excuse to stay up all night watching anime. Anyway, from what I can recall, I didn't like it very much at first and forgot about it for a while. Some time later I watched it again and it just grew on me. I really love the characters and serious/silly storylines. Overall, it's the only real anime I can watch over and over and never get sick of it.
Heh, I skimmed through this topic to get an overall idea...
Well, my story is not really epic Few years ago the anime&manga-oriented magazine I regularily bought added a CD with multitude of openings from many series. I've been watching throughoutly and finally FMP opening came... and I instantly fell in love - brilliant music, character design which I really liked, MECHAS, guns... Genious!
... HOWEVER! by that time I wasn't really able to check it out - I used Internet via modem... Than of course, few years passed and last summer I remembered there was this 'cool mecha anime' I really wanted to watch and finally downloaded the entire series (yes Taurec, I am sorry for not supporting the producers, but I explained myself ealier in my introduction... Sorry, 'kay?..) and... SPEECHLESS is a very weak word to describe my state after watching
Of course, I borrowed all my DVDs to friends and tried to hook them too, but... well, they didn't feel like downloading all the required codecs Oh well, I'll get them one day or another...

Heh I read the comics before the anime series was even dubbed and fell in LURVE, than I found fansubs *cough* and fell in love with that one, and then kept going and then started crusing for spoilers because I'm going a bit insane.
