Something missed in the manga?

Post by SunShine »

I have just finished reading Volume 8 in the manga and have read the prior books but can't remember reading the part where he teams up with another unit and fights his old friend. Have I just missed out that part/forgotten about it, or is it not in the manga because that was a reall awesome part of the anime?

I believe that story arc was only in the anime and not in any of the manga or books.

Ahh thanks I thought as much, I think that mini arc fit in rather well in the anime and think it was a success.

Yup. I believe Gatou helped them come up with the story for it and really liked it himself. It's so nice when they have the original author involved in the anime, isn't it?

Defineyly! Small stories created by original authotr, that are not told on manga and/or novels are nice extra, and of course usually fit the story. Unlike never-ending fillers made by some idiots who... well, better stop here :-D (Bleach)
(English is not my native language, so my writings are pretty crappy. Try to live with it.)

Yeah it was an anime only inclusion, but written by Gatoh and added some back story on Sousuke's past to the viewes, it was a very nice inclusion.

While that arc wasn't my favorite part of the first season, it did serve to set up, I thought, a better explanation for Sagara's sort of tentative state of mind going into the Perido Island affair than the way things transpired in the manga. So in that sense it was a good dramatic device.
