ok what's up with the yosemite park rangers?

I don't think ROD is that good of an anime at all. I might get flamed, but just my opinion. Animation is top notch, but the story is pretty uh..complicated to say the least...not that complication is not good. GITS:SAC proved that, but all this is so unplauable that it makes me laugh. PRC is controlled by a giant computer? ooooooooooook.......

Sorry for my sarcasm and skepticism, but controlling books, in this society does little to prevent information from being passed around, what are we on right now? A storyline along the lines of controlling cyberspace or something would be better, but I guess that's your Farenheight 451 reference right there.

anyway, I'll continue watching hoping it'll change my mindset...I highly doubt that though.

Hey, always interesting to hear a contrary opinion

Yeah, story
background's unplausible as HELL -- what anime isn't these days? --
but personally, my biggest argument for ROD is the dearth of intelligent,
brain-stretching anime. Everything else is of the cute girls / fighting / been
there, done that already / dumbed-down-to-crap categories.

Personally recommend watching #14 with the explanation of the
backstory. We'll make a convert of you yet!

ep17 report:

The books are burning, Anita is getting flashbacks of the time she was caught in the fire, the sisters calm her down. Yomiko asks Wendy-kun why and Wendy replies, "Because it's neccessary for Joker-san." The bad guys close in on Nancy-san to take her book but our heros resist and Wendy shoots Yomiko in the arm. She then points the gun at her head point blank and demands the book or she'll kill Yomiko. So Nancy-san says she'll give up the book and everyone stands down but right before she does, Drake fires in a big smoke gernade and our heros escape. Drake is helping them because that's his client's wish. Joker-san explains his plan is to take over the world peacefully by controlling the intelligence (bookcenters of the world) first. So they escape to the countryside to Yomiko's old house. Anita asks Drake while they're alone if Yomiko was the one that burned the Imperial Library down cuz Anita thinks that was her haunting ordeal in her past. Drake wasn't there when it happened so he doesn't know. But Junior follows them. While Nancy is sleeping, Junior comes out of the floor to steal the book but Nancy wakes up and grabs his arm, telling him he can't have it . Everyone runs into the room when hearing the commotion and Junior tries to escape but Nancy has a firm grip on him. Nancy pulls off his hood and mask and everyone is shocked to see it's Junior. Junior can't handle his shame and demands Nancy to let him go and he points a gun at her face. Yomiko tells him to stop because that's his mother, Junior has a crazy "no!!!" look in his eyes and the screen darkens and you hear a gunshot. End of episode.

My prediction, sir, is that Junior did shoot at Nancy but Nancy being what she can do, let the bullet pass right through her head.

Is the gun that Wendy-kun uses, the Walther TPH? The same model that Tessa has from the first season of FMP?

I will gather intel on the next target now.

ep18? Mon dai nai!

It appears that when Michelle shot an arrow to knock Junior's gun aisde, it went off. They call a truce but Yomiko locks herself up in her room... ashamed of lying to everyone about things. Nancy is with her trying to get her to come back outside and talk to everyone. Well, it's the next day and everyone eats breakfast together but Yomiko and Nancy. Anita and Junior replaces Drake on guard duty. While outside, Anita asks if that was him that tried to kill her at school, he replies "sorry" and Anita gives him a chop on the head . It appears that the enemy can track Junior to a certain area. Drake wakes up to find everyone (but Yomiko and Nancy) outside having fun, blowing bubbles, and making origami and joins them. Yomiko finally leaves her room and tells everyone about what's going on. Back in the living room, the story begins. When Junior was born, he was taken away. Since he is the son of 2 I-jin people, Joker plans to make him the container of all of Mr. Gentleman's knowledge, and thus his reincarnation. Junior is shocked and holds onto the book so tight that his hands phase and slips into it, activating something in it. The enemy tracking people notices Junior's intelligence and perception increasing a lot (like he's absorbing knowledge of that book). A giant hologram appears from the book and our heros see the incident at the Imperial Library being reinacted: Yomiko is against what's being done Joker sends in security to take her away but Yomiko goes berserk and turns the books in the library into a whirlwind or sharp paper around her. Everyone's running away now as the whirlwind cuts through everything including stone pillars and electric wires. The wires cause a fire and an inferno erupts consuming the place. Anita sees a familiar scene of the stileto of Yomiko inside the whirling inferno and starts to experience her traumatic flashback. She hears a scream behind her and she turns around to see the hologram image of herself as a little girl caught in the fire. End of episode.

Well, the circumstances are clear now. Anita will probably have to do some forgiving before she can move forward. But not much time for that because the evil English people

are gonna be coming.
