When I was in college, I use to work at a video postproduction place where we also did duplication for other companies. Well, needless to say most of the companies that this place did duplication work for wasn't Warner Brothers or Disney. At any rate, the most popular tape which we duplicated (i.e. got the most orders for) was one called "Cleopatra's Basement". So there are quite alot of doormat men around.

Well, just generally, Kaname's abusive behavior toward Sousuke is for the most part understandable because of what Sousuke has done, characterizing her feelings and personality, and is also kind of like a break up in usual normal things happening around them. I myself don't think that a girl who shows superiority to men in anime makes them hotter just because of that. Look at Tessa, well to me she's an awesome character, captain, female...but so is Kaname. Tessa's dignified, proper, and sensitive to those around her. If all the girls in the world were all abusive to males they can't yet show their true emotions for them, then us males would be having a real hard time in this cruel world...

If you want more of Kaname beating up Sousuke, there's always Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU. Since it focuses on more comedy, it also has to focus even more on Kaname attacking Sousuke, usually making the attacks even greater in force fictionally making it more entertaining, or just make them more amusing.

Another example of a character I find attractive in Full Metal Panic!/Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU is Mikihara Ren, the secretary in the Student Council. She's not annoying at all because of her nature and looks. She acts and looks peaceful, and beautiful. It says here that:
In sharp contrast to Kaname, she looks and behaves like a traditional Japanese beauty and is very naive.
Not to say I only like girls who are all like that, totally mature and in control, Kaname is almost at the highest on my list.

But another thing about Kaname is that she doesn't attack everybody that gets on her nerves, in Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU episode 4, she looks like she's a totally normal person at peace when she goes to that Bonta-kun amusement park with Senior Muwa, her senior from middle school. Also, when the yakuza start picking on them, she lets out outbursts of her anger in forms of making fun of the yakuza, but she doesn't actually attack them as she would if it was Sousuke interfering with her time with Senior Muwa. Looking at her attacks on Sousuke, and some of her power, especially when she bats Sousuke at the beach in Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU episode 3, in this sense she could probably knock out all three yakuza members. But she didn't, she acted like a normal girl her age would have done if that happened and was really mad. Seems Kaname handles her anger to Sousuke in a "Sousuke special" in that of beating him up.

FUMOFFU episode 4 must have been one of the best, especially with the awesome and funny traps Sousuke lays out, and of Kaname and Senior Muwa going to that amusement park with Sousuke running around in the Bonta-kun mascot suit. It's strange that no matter who is in the Bonta-kun suit, it still says variations of "fumoffu" in the same tone and voice as always. Must have a mouth piece or something to make it like that, probably to make it look and sound cute.
Everybody knows who Bonta-kun is right? Yakuza are like gangsters in Japan, there are lots of different groups just like here.

We also have to remember that Full Metal Panic!/Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU are animes, there are different natural laws in animes that are different to laws like in the real world where you can't really have an enraged Kaname throw a Sousuke at the curb where his head hits it, and then flop down on the street to stop a taxi they need which stops in barely centimeters from Sousuke's face. Then the next part when Kaname practically picks up the prone Sousuke and throws him into the cab as if it was nothing. Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU episode 2. Remember, animes are just animes, nothing more than than one of the best mediums of entertainment.

I also want everyone to know that I don't view Kaname as an abusive, crazily temperamental girl that lives life solely on unrestrained raw emotions. She is more subtle and beautiful as a person and character. If you start to see her in that sense as an "abusive, crazily temperamental girl that lives life solely on unrestrained raw emotions," she becomes less attractive in many ways. A lot of posts before me kind of illustrated her in a way that depicted her in very unfinessed or unrefined ways, but if that is what they truly believe, then it's not a problem, as long as they are true fans of the Full Metal Panic! series and its other variations.

I also noticed a lot of people talking about a "halisen." Is that the fan she carries around? She sometimes pulls it out of nowhere, but I do know that at school she keeps it in her school bag thing. The fan and school bag thing are cool, wish they were available in the U.S. I also noticed that Mikihara Ren wears a longer skirt than Kaname, Tokiwa, and the other female students. Why is that? I have 2 questions in one post...
