And I'm HOPING LIKE HELL S2'll be seeing the light of day this fall!
I SOOO wanna go back and watch the original chinese live-action...
but my chinese skills are atrophied as it is....

They're REALLY stuck on this valley arc for some reason. I kinda figured the
S1 - S2 split point would've been around the time
Shouryuujo decided
to go off on her own again and Youka loses his arm to that b***h betrothed
of his[/spoiler color] Been so long I've forgotten her name now
Still alot of plot yet to cover as
there's the revelation of
valley-guy's ex-wife still being alive, Youka's foster mother comes on
the scene with her new twins in tow, along with everyone else... Youka
given the choice to marry Ryoku... Yeah... ALOT yet to cover...

Something nice appeared in my mailbox yesterday: LoCH DVD V1
...well, there's certain things that make it a hit and miss. First off, available
languages are ENG 5.1, CANT 5.1 and MAND stereo... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!!!
NO JAPANESE TRACK?!?!?!? Then again, my cantonese COULD use some
sharpening up
The lovely OP piece Yuu has been replaced with a completely different-
toned piece in cantonese -- still lovely, but after 25 eps, I'm used to Yuu.
They kept the original ED piece blasa tho.
ENG track.... I avoided as much as possible.... 'specially AFTER the requisite
'statement of the f**king obvious that WASN'T in the original dialogue.'
I SWEAR one of the CHN voices used I've heard in the CHN-dub of
Initial D tho... can't tell, there's no credits listing in english.
Subs quality definately a cut above ... font choice / quality was so-so;
you have to see it to see what I mean.
Other than that... looking forward to V2, which has 4 eps instead of 3! YAY!
Curious how many discs they plan to make this, and the episode arrangement
per disc

FINALLY!! #26 is available, which closes off S1 of this series. Wondering whether
any news of S2 has floated to the top or not. In any case, cast my vote
for this wonderful story to continue!!

Quick summary: Koko & Youka fight their way out of the Valley -- funnily
enough, I thought they could've done with LESS fighting and MORE
plot devel, usually it's the other way around; Valley Lord corners them and
demands Youka serve the wedding wine; his ex-wife recalls his weakness
and uses it against him; Valley Lord blinded by a seed and falls to his death
-- poetic justice, no?
; ex-wife takes place as Mistress of the Valley
and promises Youka the cure if he'll stay and marry her daughter --
something about Queen B***H comes to mind; Koko & Youka have alittle
lover's spat about the worth of dying vs. staying with your loved one...
...in the end, they take a boat back to the Koba? to spend their
days together
Alittle forced, but sweet nonetheless...
Little flashback to when Youka was just a kid and got his first look
at Dragon Girl... ahh, CRAP!! LUCKY BASTARD!!!!
SEASON 2!! NOW!!!!

Supposedly S2's being broadcast in HK/China but wasn't as popular in Japan,
hence the cantonese language track.... ahh well. THANK YOU FOR S2!!
