The_Review_from_ANN wrote:Sakura, a princess from the Clow Kingdom, lost her memory due to a strange incident that happened within an archeological dig in her home country. In order to regain her memory, Yukito, the Kingdom`s mage, sent her childhood best friend, Syaoran, to seek help from the witch, Yuuko. Yuuko tells Syaoran that he has to travel from one alternate reality to another to collect fragments of Sakura`s memory. However, even if Sakura regains her memory, she will have no recollection of Syaoran. Along the journey, Syaoran and Sakura meet Kurogane, a warrior who was exiled from his country, and Fye, a mage who wants to move from one reality to another in order to escape from his King. The four characters end up traveling together and an exciting journey through time and space begins
Im sure you all know about this title :-D

After watching the first ep I didnt quite get into the story and all, so I was kinda skeptical if this will be any good...
anyway after watching the second ep.. I was kinda thinking that this could end up to be quite good afterall...
Since the head character didnt seem to show any weak points at All when trying to get her memory back..
and i hope he stays that way.. since there are just too many series right now where the head character is a wuss...

lol...I've read up to around chp. 53 of the manga, so don't worry Zy, he'll be staying that way. :D Anyway...I'm downloading ep.1 right now, so I'll probably have something more to say about it tomorrow. :D

I'm also enjoying this title--the first episode actually got me to buy the manga. The story concept is touching--Syaoran is gives up Sakura's memories of him so that he can save her, no matter how painful that will be. It will be painful for him. It has to be, for his beloved to wake up and not know him is one of the cruelest fates imagineable. All hope for them as a couple is not lost, even with Yuuko's payment. Just because she has forgotten her past with him does not mean she will not be able to return his feelings in the future.

I love the intro and ending songs. The ending is sung by Maaya Sakamoto. 'Nuff said. I also think that Yuki Kajuira is doing a good job with the music. It fits into the show very well.

My complaint about the animation centers around Yuuko. She is just drawn too plainly. I know in the manga she is very intricately drawn, but even a little bit more detail would make her look much better. I hope the xxxHOLIC anime (movie or OVA, can't remember which) uses a different, more detailed character design for her and Watanuki. Considering it's slated to be something other than a series, the budget should be able to do that.

If you like Tsubasa Chronicle, I recommend checking out the xxxHOLIC manga, also by CLAMP. It runs parallel to Tsubasa Chronicle but is about Yuuko and Watanuki, her assistant. There are references to other CLAMP titles in it. I was laughing when Yuuko gave Watanuki Chii ears for them to be able to talk. The manga deals with Yuuko's and Watanuki's day to day life, strange as it may be. For example, Watanuki made his own Valentine's chocolate, and he gets take out for Yuuko from a kitsune (fox spirit.) Here's an additional incentive to try the manga: the names of Yuuko's 2 servants (the little girls) mean "indecent public exposure."

Read up through Ch 55 of the manga...I thought the first episode was cool, but wasn't too impressed with the second (just seemed like the whole Yuuko scene went on foreverrrrrrr). I didn't even mind that Sorata + Arashi weren't in it, the story still seemed to flow. But I hope it doesn't turn episodic like "And today's bad guy is.....!"

I'm looking forward to seeing whether or not Sakura is able to fall in love with him all over again and what sort of hidden consequences that would have.

And ditto on the music. Kotani Kinya + Maaya Sakamoto + Yuki Kajiura = WIN. <3

I just watched the first episode now, and I really liked it.
It has an interesting story, but there were several other things that got my attention.

The first is the music. It's like I was watching Hack/Sign all over again.
I really liked the music of Hack/Sign.

The personality of the princess is like from the main char of Hack too!

But the most amusing thing was that five of the main characters look exactly like the characters from Card Captor Sakura. Even their names are exactly the same. They are just a little older. :-)

It was fun! It'll be one of my favourites for sure! :-D

Well, it's something of an AU of CS, yes. CLAMP is known for cameos of other CLAMP series' characters, and xovers in their stories.

finished it; so far i would say it's pretty good, not spectacular but pretty good

the humor is good for a light chuckle, the animation rocks (IMO), the love story is alright (lil one sided right now), and the action is what i call "pretty action" (like in hero or dancing tiger hidden dragon etc)

i've heard there are another TWO seasons planned and at least one movie; i personally LOVED card captor sakura (for some reason :D), so i can't wait for more of this; it's gonna be good!!!!!!!!

Someone mentioned cameos. Did anyone catch Kotoko and Sumomo from Chobits in "large" form? LOL

Yep, and Sumomo was just as useful there as in Chobits. ;) Wasn't Chii shown briefly with Fye in episode 1?

i think someone from clamp thinks it's fun to include cameos in some of their works...not just tsubasa chrnonicles. in Legal Drug, there's a cameo of hina from suki.dakara suki. and from Angelic Layer, the newspaper articles in the very beginning have a lot of references to other of their mangas. and in Cardcaptor Sakura;master of the clow, we see kero holding an angelic layer book...umm....is there more?

but what happens when u have no idea who that person is or if it's even a cameo? only people who obsess over clamp stuff really know who that person is....i think it's more of an inside joke. it's even more funny when u know it's a cameo, but u can't remember who it is. it drove me up the wall...

:wall: "who..is...that....arrrghh"
