Pretty good... except for the ending, which was a letdown and a little too deus ex for me.

...it's somewhere on the 'to watch' list... my 1st impression of the animation
wasn't too high as it looked kinda nausicaa, et al retroish... that or the
quality of the 'copy' I had didn't do it justice.

I'll give it another go

I have not seen Howls Moving Castle yet I am going to rent it when it comes out on DvD

Seen it, it was weird man...

spoiler talk
they jumped in the story too much...
the queen seemed to have a war for no reason
and the headcharacter suddenly was madly in love with him they never even talked much with each other, some words here and there..
and PANG "I LOVE YOU" then that happily ever after ending..

I didnt quite get the story either... and they just seemed to have a rush or something since people like her family were like total strangers after she left... she did see her mother but suddnly she was at the bad guys side..
so id give it 4 out of 10

Well,
I have read the book and the movie follows it pretty closely.

Except for the whole thing with the war...that was added so that there was some kind of moral issue to address than just your run of the mill fantasy/love story.
Also they made Markl a little boy when he is older in the book
and she has three sisters in the book.but besides that i find that the story is just about scene for scene accurate.

Princess Mononoke is my favourite so far, i really like the sad story and the soundtrack. I didnt like Grave of the fireflies, it was just too depressing. Maybe one of the saddest anime i ever watched.

I really enyoed the story about Howl and his castle, what a good looking guy

and that was the first Ghibli movie with....

i know that was excieting!!!!

i would just like to say that i have Nausicaa and the animation is better. I should know i practicaly watched the movies back to back.
i have a think for Teto and Heen. ( teto from nausica and heen from howl.)
