I'm not sure if you heard of odex before, but they have official licensed anime DVD's for bargain prices. (english subbed)
it's REGION 3 but it's been a while since I actually saw a dvdplayer that wasn't multi-region.

Yep, they're Singaporean.
And as far as legit copies go, even HK bootlegs have better-quality subs for the most part. A few are okay (for the VCDs, I know Witch Hunter Robin is good, and probably Cowboy Bebop), but the majority, especially the first few released, are poorly done. Don't know about the latest ones, since I've been out of the loop for the longest time.
I can't say much about the video quality, as I'm fine with anything that doesn't look grossly pixellated. But this is one reason why I'm not a big fan of legitimate releases over here.

The odex experience I have was with Vandread, battle athlethes and Love Hina.
They were pretty okay from what I recall.
Tnx for the info.

Their ep count per disc is D**N good... but my question is squeezing that
much video onto one DVD9 even's not gonna make for a very good pic...
and that includes cutting out even the OP and ED pieces as well
...no list prices for comparative shopping?
Regards
