LOL

Yes, the dealers room :)
Perhaps where I spend the most con time(not onvilving running from place to place). The line I wait in cheerfully :)
And still, otakon beats AX- AX gets some wierd huge company booths, but otakon stuff is (was) acutally spaced out more- but I have nice, sharp elbows so I'm pretty capable of waging good war even where there's less room.

Hmm... I have a good foot for kicking. :D

No, really, I can direct you towards a couple of people who have felt the brunt of my feet. XD One's just a pillock in general, the other didn't seem to realise that when I said "Actually, no, I'd rather not dance" I meant "GO AWAY BEFORE I KICK YOU!". XD

Where do they do cons in America? I mean, over here, we just take over a hotel for the weekend so we've got the conference rooms for video programming and other stuff, then we've got everywhere else to hang out. This con just gone was probably the first one where I didn't watch a ton of anime. And I spent most of my time running between the two bars (one for everyone in the hotel, one purely just for convention goers :D) and just chatting aimlessly at people while taking photos. :D

The smaller cons do the same thing- take out hotels for a weekend (and terrify the innocently ignorant)

The larger cons have moved to convention venues.
My first otakon was it's last at a hotel- it had spilled over into the neighboring hotel so they moved the next. Now otakon is done pretty well- the center is surrounded by hotels, and most events are pretty centralized in half of the con center.

AX the past 2 years is another story- they moved to a convention center, also surrounded by hotels- but they spread their events between the center and hotels. So, you run to one hotel for anime showings- one hotel for gaming stuff- the center mostly has only the dealers room and big events. Lots of running around, and no central place to hang out. Everyone is spread out. Not as fun.

But they're moving it next year, so I hope its easier to get around.

And no bars, anywhere, mostly, since legal age here is 21.

I think UK fandom would be scuppered without bars. :D Not that I drink, not that many of 'em drink too much, but it's somewhere to sit and chill and gossip and have a Coke (or a Red Bull *BOUNCE!*) before the next fun whatever. :)

Well, hotel lobbies and lounges suffice, mostly-
But it sort of seems to be they start getting dominated by the larger clique groups. Depending on the con, most ppl socalize while waiting in line heh

I think that becasue we're not supposed to drink, is one reason ppl take it to their rooms- and have loud overly drunken parties that cause the hotel management to get pushy. And then there are the fire alarm pulling jerks.... (good US con-going advice. If there are mutiple hotels in the area, *don't* stay at the one hosting the con)

The hotel Fanime is held has keep a guard at the elevators during con nights, and demands to see room keys of everyone going up. blah

I made a winamp skin of FMp, but it's not yet finished, I must go back to finish it, but work has been trying to kill me

Although, I'm making a new one already, *lol* 8)
When it's ready I'll happily donate it to be put on the site!!!

T_T It's basically ready right now anyway, but I wanted to add animated cursors etc, and my program died...(it was an evaluation thing for Microangelo, and now I wanna buy the licence but the site who sells it is down so i'm desperate! T_T;; *lol*) If anyone knows of another site selling it....*lol* :o

The old one has already all the stuff, but it lacks buttons, so it's hard to use.... T_T But if anyone wants it, it's cool (anything with young Kashim on it is cool. *lol*)

Well there aren't many Cons here at all... Animania was the first anime-only con, and it looked like it had been put together by a bunch of fanboys  . Then there are mor comic oriented conventions and they hire out these HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEE halls for the weekend. I like those ^^.
I've never heard of one of those hotel type ones, I suppose since the anime following is pretty compared to the US comic ones, it's difficult.

Chii - Go to 'compose' in your hotmail account. Then click on 'Attachments', a new page appears and click on 'browse', your directory appears and look for your file and select it. Then click 'attach' and wait for hotmail to reload the page. DO the same thing if you want to add more and when your finished, click on 'done' and hotmail will bring you back to compose page.

Hope it's not too confusing^^

Weez - somehow, I couldn't access your site..
