Himmelfahrt or as we Dutch call it Hemelvaart, yeah this means a day off for us too. Religion doesn't always suck <grin>

We have this tradition called "douw trappen" translated it's "dew kicking" Kinda means wake up very early (sun rise) and go running or make a few miles on a bike. What idiots ... the only thing I was kicking very early in the morning were my bedsheets.

While Friday isn't a official day off, we are forced by management to take a day .. so this is a "sigaar uit eigen doos" (a cigar out of our own box)
But hey i'm not complaining.

In Germany, they have this tradition on Ascension Day (which is I believe the english name for the holiday) called, get on your bicycle wit' da boyz and ride
around the countryside singing songs drunkenly. Yep, can't forget the booze... ^_^
