I just drove six total hours to my fiance's friends house whom he hadn't heard from the past 48 hours. It was possible that he had committed suicide/attempted to and my fiance is stationed on the other side of the continent.
There wasn't anything my fiance could do, he's too far away. He made calls, left voicemails, text messaged and couldn't find anything out from anyone. No one returned his calls, nothing. He told me not to go yesterday, and I didn't but I went tonight to see if his friend was alright. When my fiance told me today he wasn't reacting because he "couldn't afford to" I just had to go.

Boy was he mad when he found out. I told him, he shouldn't hear it from anyone else. But it makes me wonder. I know I went against his wishes, but did I do the right thing? My fiance always puts his needs last, especially when it comes to me, but I could not let him suffer.
Now he knows his friend is alright and it didn't hurt to drive. Especially when someone's life may have been on the line...

It could be me.... but why didn't he want you to go and why was he mad? But being angry usualy isn't something very logical but more connected to feeling. So it's very had to say wether or not you did something right or wrong.
