I am much more worried about things like dying

Defensive driving here, also.

Though damaging my car badly would also be bad. Not like it is expensive car or something (I bought it with 740 euros and it was full of bounces and stuff from beginning). It just would be... shamefull, and same goes with the cops if they would some day have a real reason to arrest me.

Currently in the works: an insurance situation from a car accident that happened the last day of my honeymoon clear across the nation, this is going on a month now arguing between insurances. The emergency room visit this last one is dealing a hard hand.
It's really killing me that I've been in three accidents in the last year and a half alone, and none of them were my fault -_-

VERY tall and VERY cold barkeep... I like the pay from my job (when it actually comes
to me on time) but I don't know if I like the crap you have to know in order to do the job,
and it's hidden in a big database with a crap searchengine to it.

I haded off to work this morning in what was to become the worst rainstorm in the past 40 years on Long Island. I get about half way there and...........

flash flood...... I watched a wall of water heading right for me.....

My poor Subaru was suddenly in water up to its hoodline.

Lucky for my I was at the head of the pack of cars. Somehow I managed to get it running and managed to get out of the newly formed river by revving up the engine and popping in and out of first a few times. Thank God for 4 wheel drive and the fact that the air intake was above water...

I spent the vacuuming the water out of the passenger cabin with a wet/dry vac and cleaning out the water from the entire length of the air intake.

So far she's running fine. Just needs a new set of spark plugs.

The water wall was from a parking lot that was filled with rain water, which eventually toppled the concrete barrier.

And the road I was on....

happened to have the name "Riverbed Drive"

Geee wonder where it got that name from......

Lucky you made it out in one piece Joe.
But gawd it's annoying to dry a car when it got flooded.

Not sure if you are covered but let a garage take it apart and let it dry.
Water tends to creep in places you can't get near it.

my advice...clean it well and sell it...for it will only cause you major headaches down the road...flood damaged cars are BAD news.

The car wasn't flooded. I had a half inch of water in the back seat. The only electronics it got to was my crappy subwoofer (which already died) and a voltage inverter that wasn't connected. I pulled the seats and cleaned out the water. I tore out the carpet's padding and dried the rest (synthetic fibers dry quickly). The water in the engine compartment had drained and dried (I ran it for a good 6 hours afterwards, and kept it under a hot lamp. After it was dried I plugged in my ODBII unit and took it for a drive on the roads and highway for a bit. all the sensors were functioning and readings were within limits. I as worried about the 02 sensors getting trashed, but they were fine. Even if they were trashed, the muffle system has already rusted together before the flood.

I'm looking to buy a new car anyway, this one's got 6years and 50k on it already, and was in a accident (rear ended by a car doing 70mph, while I was doing 0). So it doesn't drive quite the same.

I'll let my wife beat up on it for a bit when I get the new one. I can probably get another 4 years out of it as it is. At which point she can get her own car (or I'll give her mine, and get another one for myself).

My daddy was an automechanic, and he taught me all I need to know. I've already dissembled and reassembled my car (tweaked it a little heare and there).

I appreciate the thoughts though.

I did get off lucky.. very lucky.
