Went and saw "The Purge," let's just say you'll want to purge the thing from memory after watching it.
REALLY interesting premise -- for one night of the year, all crime is legal -- because it's good to
"purge our souls" (pandering to the bible thumpers and rightwingnuts south of the 49th). Where it falls
apart is it can't decide whether it's a social commentary, gun action flick, or cliche darkened-house
horror film.

Think the line at the end by the mother sums it up -- "we're just going to sit here until this is all over, okay?"
AFTER slamming her neighbor's face into the glass-topped dining table... if it wasn't the end of the movie,
I woulda yelled at the screen, "It's over now, b*tch!" and walked out.

Meantime, I'm short nearly 4K to cover upcoming bills... that I don't have in saving or upcoming paychecks.

It's been a while since I upgraded my system .. 3 ~ 4 year cycle.

But this is my new system:

Gigabyte G1.Sniper M5 - I only use a single GPU so don't need the extra slots / lanes.

Intel Core i7 4770K

8 GB G.Skill Ripjaws Z 2133 MHz DDR3 CL9

Inno3D GeForce GTX 780 - the stock cooler is brilliant.

256GB Samsung 830 - for OS and this came from my "old" rig

2x Hitachi 1 TB HDD's - Raid1 + Kingston SSDNow V Series V300 60GB
This is used by intel SRT as cache SSD for the Raid1 array (holds my Steam / Data folder) games load really fast now

Fractal Design Define XL R2 - Full tower case. (nice and silent)

Coolermaster 1000w PSU - came from my old rig.

After the Soundblaster 8 -> 64 I never bothered to buy a new soundcard because I was happy with the AC97 Realtek solutions.
The Sniper comes with a Soundblaster Recon audio solution, Never thought the difference would be that big compared to Realtek ones.

Superman is the late Christopher Reeve. When they said dark, well, with the string of dark
superheros and US military in the limelight, they still kept some of the idea of hope from the
Chris Reeve days that it wasn't all doom and gloom.

Well, got a whole lot of nothing done on my 3day off weekend, yay to me!
Was going to get that remote VPN working, but just as I had the config
done, knocked my own access offline till I got someone at home to reboot
the router... so I have to try this again some other time...

Thought I'd post up and let ppl know... Noir and I are okay with the flooding in the Southern Alberta region.

Both of us work pretty close to regions near where water levels got pretty high. Just looking at some of the
pictures of what it's like in Calgary... all I can say is I'm one of the lucky ones not to be under a few feet
of water...

Crazy at work today tho... bunch of ppl sick, the rest couldn't come in due to the lockdown. Just spent the
last couple hours helping out to implement a DR plan; which at this pont is someone's dining room got turned
into the workspace to support the client.

Playing things by ear for now... Tall and Cold, I just need it.

I am safe and Dry, however my work is another story i may have some more free time on my hands for how long i don't know. I have a large war chest just in case i need it .

I played lot's of Borderlands 2 this weekend i got to part where you first meet Tiny Tina ....

13 more days until i go to Seattle got some USD and going to my local telco next weekend to get a U.S plan for my cell phone, so i don't get ding with roaming charges.
