LOL Borderlands is great .. just started with the Torque campaign.. check the trailler...

Can't you just get a prepaid card in the US ?

Tall and Cold... I swear the helpdesks have a collective case of the dumbs lately... been ticket-bombing us
every day from the mundane (dur, how do I...) to the plainly whacked out of their tree. We've got a Americas-wide
issue with message waiting lights, and rather than put the brakes on it at the helpdesk, "Hmm, how fast can
we get as little information as possible and dump it to the Network guys?"

....Idiots.

As for the water... still high up there... Tau, if your FTP server's still up, I'll post some of the pics I caught last week by the riverbank.

LOL, But us techies have followed courses that enables us to predict the future and just know what is wrong if the client say "it" doesn't work.

FTP is still running ... but only secured ftp access

Well, back in the office again, which is nice. First we were at a hotel with REALLY nice beef sandwiches
and prime rib specials. Then we were back at the local tech school. I've missed my desk.

Off to bed now cuz I'm covering for a coworker tomorrow. Tall and Cold... just cuz.

Oh yeah...wish Noir the best with his trip. We want pixors!

Hope I necro-raised Noir's computer alright... I'm alittle out of practice about using the Windows disk
as the boot disk / format disk.

Oh yeah, what's a way to tell off the customer when they whine "why'd it take you 3 hours to do X when..."
and they're full of s**t? Cuz right before I left I had to draft up an email which basically said, "between
time X and Y in the ticket worklog is this amount of time..."

...Idiots.

At least you had the computer in front of you. I had to troubleshoot windows 95 over the phone the other day...

Easy fix for that CPOK... usually involves C-4 and a hammer.

yesterday, going to see Pacific Rim with some friends tonight... we'll see how
that is. I'm mostly going for the company than the movie, truth to tell.

Okay, I have to admit, most of the trailers I've seen for Pacific Rim didn't really tell much other than the big robots.

The Likes : BIIIIIG robots and BIIIIIG monsters, action, explosions, the one liners. My personal favorite, "Or we
can go out there and do something REALLY stupid!"

The Dislikes : nothing really.

The Nit-picky : Who in their right mind doesn't equip a robot with more close combat equipment? Flamethrowers,
knives, brass knuckles... what's it with the designers thinking in a street fight with an animal the size of a small
sea ship you don't have something that's more appropos for CQB.

The whole pilot sync idea. Dafaq?!

Cockpit in the robot's head... now I know why other big robot designers didn't put it there...

Two major outages at work

1) we lost one of the ticketing systems over the weekend... this is the one to track change work during
the global change window. Man, was ugly to read, the highlights : backend storage lost, blahblahblah,
restored to last wednesday, no possibility of recovering anything afterwards... yadayadayada.

2) THIS one I hope I don't have to write up, phone system along the east coast has been down since monday
AM. One of the primaries on the vendor's been going since last night with no sleep, and we're still no
closer to fixing it.... Argh!

Tall and Cold... make it a triple.

So been hacking around in Autoit to create my own DNS client that works with namecheap

... yes I am not a programmer, still like autoit though.

Know of it... on the procrastinate list "to try out someday." Looks like alot of fun, basically the router / firewall / etc
software on disc, you supply the hardware without the Cisco 65% markup, or so their marketing materials go.

An alternate is Untangle... again, on my procrastinate list "to try out someday."
