Philippine Gov Releases Pension for Vets

Today, at the Bataan War Memorial, the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, announced releasing 1 billion Philipine pesos (About 18 million US Dollars) in funds for the long overdue pensions to Filipino Veterans of the Second World War. In attendance were most of the remaining survivors of the infamous Bataan Death March, and various other surviving members of the USAFFE and the Philippine Commonwealth Army, and various resistance members, along with the various Chiefs of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, United States Ambassador Khristine Kennie and Japanese Ambassador Yamashiro Yamazaki. Honour Guard was provided by members Philippine Army Scout Ranger Regiment (AFP equivalent to USSOC-D).
