Just back from my first hands-on with Vista instore... nice glitz and glam, under
the glitz and glam is the same old paintjob covering one hell of a slap-dash job.
Specifically, I refer to how MS thought they had to reinvent the wheel
with repositioning everything we've come to be able to find since the days
of Win95. I want to find SysProp, but some machines didn't have the Computer
icon enabled on the Vista button, so I typed 'Computer' into the address bar.
Vista told me something to the effect I didn't have rights to access that
particular object... uhmmmm, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!?! I tried to hunt
around for the wireless network settings, seems Vista took me for a REAL
dummy user, so kept pointing me in the direction of 'How to setup a home
network'; ummm, DUUUUUUH!!! I need to input a frickin' WPA key here stupid!!
...and don't get me started on how many uac popups I got thruout this quickie tryout.
