Unfortunately, "cheap and fast" food is extremely bad for you, but because its cheap and fast people go for it.
I'm surprised that Pocky (amongst other Japanese snacks) didn't make it on the vid. LOL

But Mc D. and the fast food industry is to blame for it ..
Our kids are getting brainwashed by Ronald and our schools serve crap food to kids because fast food companies can offer their products dirt cheap to schools. and schools seemingly don't get a lot of funding for food.
Obese people just like smokers (and people who like Vista) are eating away and burning up my health care network.
Not really sure how health care works in Japan but if the gov. has to pay a lot of money for it, imho it is understandable.

McD and co are not only to blame. Our whole lifestyle has us sitting on our butts for the majority of the time. Lack of exercise is not just due to being lazy. My job has me sitting at my desk 10-12 hours a day. So if the business is not allowing people exercise time, serving garbage in the cafeteria (since there isn't a whole lot of time to eat properly, people end up in the office cafeteria), and jockeying for the cheapest health plans, then they are culpable as well.
Of course that doesn't mean that the workers will exercise, but given the chance, I would.

Well, I'm not gonna say that McDonald's is to blame for obesity anywhere but since the Japanese government is willing to fine people for being overweight, they might as well ban McDonald's and other fast food.
