Oddly these moves are similar to the ones featured in the "Monkey" from Johny Bravo.
Still its a nice way to loosen your hips.
Dansen is Dutch for "to dance"

For the same reason they do the Macarena:
Humans have the insatiably need to embarrass the hell out of themselves when it comes to dance fads.
The other is genetics: It goes hand in hand with walking upright 24/7 and the fact that eventually not enough blood gets to the brain.
