Having personally dealt with the SA telecom carrier for the last two years about speed and reliability issues, it's about damn well time...

You would still have issues with dropped packets.
Also Homing pigeons are a one way protocol. You would need to attach response pigeon to the request pigeon in order to do 2 way communication. That is called the "Reverse Avian Tunneling Protocol" or RAT-P. You need to use RAT-P in order to allow use of pigeon windowing. Pigeon windowing has been proven to be faster and more secure than the FATBYRD protocol for large packet sizes. FATBYRD is notorious for being a larger target that is easily spotted on a network by hunter/hackers.
but then you have the problem with DOS attacks on statues and packet sniffing of course would be discouraged.
