Mecha Info (split from weapons info)

Which brings us to our next subject.....What are the Mithril Mechas made of?
Specialized alloys? Aluminium? MITHRIL?(which would explain why they're so fast).
And why would mecha be practical in FMP's world anyway? Post Here!

Well if ya would make em from steel, etc. they would be to heavy ..
I would make use of lots of composite's

but as seen in some eps it looked like they used steel (any).

Like the Behemoth... they had to use a LD to maintain structural integrity..
So who knows ..

Well it probably have to be some new alloy derived from Black Tech. seeing how even an "older" RK-92 Savage can take sustained fire from Mithril's support APCs (Ep. 9) without damage.

Then again, Kruz's M9 was pretty much vaporized by missiles in EP 6, so we do know its not THAT tough.

Which then brings up the issue of the Arbalest, that AS seem to be nigh indestructable. as the ARX-7 took Zaiido's gatling head on and only has small dents to show for it. (Ep. 17)

Like I said before, it makes you wonder why they remembered to bring the IFVs along but forgot to bring a few guys with TOW or Dragon ATGMs. Or at least maybe a LAW launcher. As for the ARX-7, the thing is an enigma... I doubt we'll ever completely figure it out.

They could have used Titanium its light and strong but very expensive.

About the damage sustained to the M9 of Kurtz and the RK-92 Savage. probably its just a something they forgot. It doesn't have to be explainable by science. It is just a series *starts running..... no put down that gun.... I was just joking*

Most of the Titanium the Russians get their hands on goes to building Politovsky and Akula class submarines. They can't acquire enough to even build their Typhoon class out of Titanium, much less mass produce the RK-92. The M-9 debris was probably obliterated with AGM-114s, and the RAH-66 pilot DID use his entire load, so I can understand that at least.

Are you sure those were Hellfires? They look too thin, and the paintjob and fins seem wrong to me.......

Well, the Hellfire is the only ATGM the RAH-66 is configured to carry, so I presumed they were AGM-114s. Of course, they could also be Stingers.

Definitely not Stingers. Those are tube-launched. If I remember correctly, the Comanche can also use other types of missiles other than AIM-92 and AGM-114(not counting Hydra rockets) I'll look it up.

EDIT: I've had a look-see at the Enemy Engaged site( I know, PC games aren't usually the best resources, but still) the RAH-66 can be configured to use certain weapons in the NATO arsenal.

List of missiles I stole:
Army Counter Air Weapon System
TOW II missile
Starstreak
Matra Mistral
Euromissile HOT II
Sura D-81mm rocket
Oerlikon Snora 81-mm rocket

Any of those look like the missiles from FMP?

Jup .. but using Stingers on a ground target

Can't be the Sura D 81mm, Snora 81mm or Hydra 70 (all unguided)
Stinger, Starstreak or Mistral .. they look just different or are tube launced

So i think it's a drawing error on the Gonzo part .. they made the fins on the back to short ..

They look more like a Hellfire ..

Those definitely look like AGM-114s. Except for the fins anyway. On the Commanche, the Army currently has them rated only for the AIM-92 and the AGM-114. I have my doubts about them loading rockets into such a craft, as stealth units are ussualy employed only for precision strike, and don't make the best fire supressors. I also have my doubts about being able to use European weapon systems. Remember, the F-4 has problems with the Skyflash missile, and the brits had to modify a good part of the plane before they could use them effectively.

I still think they look too long though. I'm just going to think of them as "Mithril-only" weapons until I see evidence pointing to the contrary. A cloaking Comanche would be really cool though, wouldn't it?
