Can you imagine a place were things are way screwed up? A place where dragons and castles rule the land. Where people such as you and I would never fit in because of our voice, language, and style, or, more basically, who we are.
In the Sagittarian sector of the galaxy, by the single red giant in the sector, on its fifth planet, Zaron, there lives a colony of people who live like the medieval people of our past. With castles that rule the land and smaller holds here and there. Surprisingly, only one of the four continents was populated. No one knows why, but the castles, holds, and weyrs were far apart and the fastest way of travel was by dragon.
Dragons are great lizard like beasts with wingspans that reach up to seventy-five feet across. They have beautifully arched necks that end in a wedge shaped head. Their eyes are whirling winds of color, varying from a deep violet to a bright white, for their feelings are told in their eyes. The intensity of the feeling is told by how fast their eyes spin.
If you wanted to see the real thing you would have to go to the nearest weyr. When there you could see them feed, bathe, sleep, train, or play with other dragons or their distant cousins, fire-lizards. Fire-lizards are a miniature model of dragons. Dragons are born and raised in weyrs by their riders whim they Impress at their hatching. No one knows ho the dragons pick their life long partners but they have their reasons and they usually end up being a good match. Anyway, now that you know about their culture, let the history begin……….
