Nah, Fumoffu was also based upon the novels. But I think of it this way; we get to see the same great material in three different formats. That keeps me happy

Let's try a simpler question... what's the mecha / gunbunny to school
drama ratio in V7?

Personally I enjoyed V6 alot... yeah, alot of the material ended up in
Fumoffu, but there were some unique aspects that did(n't) end up
being animated: ex. Officer Wakana didn't show up when Sousuke &
Kaname do their infamous race back to school.

Some more sugary-sweet romance stuffs between SxK... Tessa gets
some screentime as well as this TOTALLY inept and out-of-her-depth
brat

ARGH!!! THIS is the girl that designed the Danaan?!?! Whiskey
Tango Foxtrot?!?!

...my favorite moment out of the volume: tossup between Sousuke's
idea of a pinch of salt and Sousuke getting DRUNK on 'health' wine ROTF

Virtually zero to all. Its all fumo-type stuff, but the only Fumo ep represented is the kidnapping one (at least that I can remember).

However, V7 does feature a gym-shorts eating rodent, if it means anything

Vol 8 the main story kicks back in.

Am I one of the few people who love the silly stuff as much as the serious stories?

I definitely love the silly stuff, but it was all old hat to me when I read the manga, since I'd watched the FMP:F episodes several times before. That and I'm really, really not interested in Tessa-centric chapters. I'll be happy if the next volume has mostly fun stuff that wasn't animated though.

The one chapter I loved, New Years!

Yup, according to Diamond Comics website Volume 7 should be in comic book stores Wednesday Jan 12. YAY! (not to mention that Vol. 4 of Louie the Rune Soldier is out then too, I like that series also, it's super funny
