Ah, that's a bummer, Jae.

My apartment almost caught fire 2 nights ago. Both my roommates were gone and I was in bed falling asleep when I heard some banging on the door. I didn't want to get out of bed and I know my roomies have keys so I thought, "F' that, I'm trying to sleep." But then my phone rings and it's one of my roommates and he tells me he got a call from one of the resident maintenance crew that we're friends with and he tells him there's smoke coming out of my building." So I rush to the door and stepped outside and there's a firetruck parked curbside and firemen breaking down the door of the apartment below mine.

It turns out the residents below me weren't home but they left the electric range on. Good thing my neighbor (the one that was banging on my door) heard the fire alarm and called the fire department. The stove fire was put out but it still smells like burnt shrimps near the sinks/drains. I think the smell from below travels through the holes in the walls for the pipes.

So ya, I could've been temporarily homeless cuz of other people's carelessness. I'll have some of that spicy TT drink too plz.

Sigh, out of 12 laptop I manage to pick the one with a "broken" screen .. a good thing I don't have to pay for it ... and the on-site nbd warranty is handy too.
