Actually, I'm just trying to fill in the blanks for a few things that don't make sense. Right now, speculation is all I've got to run with.Pyrite wrote:There's too much speculation on all our parts, frankly, and largely unsubstantiated. It's pretty shaky trying to build a case based on the absence of evidence, which, to borrow a oft-overused phrase, does not indicate evidence of absence.

The problem with running on speculations is that you get nowhere, get tired, and wear out your sneakers.

It's a forum built for the entertainment of those who like the show. You guys are so serious. I'm just spitting out ideas. I'm not trying to get anywhere. It's fun to use my imagination. Hell, I could be (and probably am) way off base. And when it comes to light, I couldn't care less. If my sneakers are worn out having fun, it's time well spent.
I've taken fandoms seriously in the past. It's too much stress. Not worth it.

...Aww, damn, then why didn't you just say it was speculation in the first case? I do that all the time, but the way you put it, it sounded to me like you were preaching the Gospel truth. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Oh, and on taking fandoms seriously... we're not the ones brimming with vitriolic character hate.

Oh, I DO hate Leonard. May he contract Herpes. But that's fun too.
And I do think that there's more to Leonard's grudge than busting up a few robots. I just don't know exactly what it is. I also get the impression that there's a seedier side to Mithril. I just don't know exactly what that is either. Time will tell. If I'm wrong, I won't lose any sleep over it.

Thank you! Man, you would think I was doing something horrible by ripping on Leonard- it's all just for fun, nothing serious in it.Weltall Elite wrote:It's a forum built for the entertainment of those who like the show. By the way, I replied to your PM. Did you get it? It wouldn't be the first time a PM hasn't gotten through.
Sorry, mods. Off topic, but bare with me, please.
Back on topic, yeah. It's fun to hate Leonard. If you can't enjoy hating a villain and hoping he dies a horrible death, he's probably not that great a villain anyway.

...and you'd think we were doing something wrong by putting something up in Leonard's favour for once. I mean, we actually had a canonical basis this time... *shrug* Well, at least that's out of the way.sj4iy wrote:Thank you! Anyway, there's Kalinin to discuss. Probably killed Hunter, is almost definitely responsible for the decimation of Mithril... Any speculations on his next move? (I'd want to see the part when the SRT finds out. The backlash should be tremendous.)

Then you should not watch anime, Least ones we villain actually has tratig past. This is what Leonard is and same time he is gentleman unlike Gauron and Gates that did have that "hate me" aspect in them.

Okay. To be fair, villains don't need tragic pasts to be effective. Gauron didn't need one, certainly, and the same could apply for many other villains. However, to simply look down on all villains with sad backstories would be also unfair. What matters is characterisation. And personally, I'm more partial to stories where it's actually fleshed-out characters the hero faces, and not one-dimensional caricatures.
And I'm sure there are those who would disagree over the "gentleman" statement. One does not simply force kisses on people and abduct them - and other things besides, like sacking Merida Island. But I just attribute it to Leonard's warped belief/value system.

DAMN YOU MEGATRON! I HOPE YOU BUUURRRN!
He's on ice in the upcoming movie, though...
I'm still thinking Kalinin might come around again, since he seems to still be an honorable (yet pragmatic) person, despite his apparent defection to Almagam.
Leonard Smeonard.
Mister Misunderstood will die a tragic death.
He still looks like the typical villian that blames others for his own predicament.
He doesn't seem too eager to take responsibility for himself.
