Tron what....?

Borrowed a friend's copy of Tron Legacy, largely because I refuse to pay to watch the movie...
I was right, they so destroyed the original, and only Bruce Boxleiter and Jeff Bridges' presence
gave it a veneer of legitamacy.

Got some packing done, I STILL have to rent the uhaul. As for furniture, all the stuff I'm taking
now should fit, but I think the couch is probably going to be the worst to move. I checked the
path between the "loading dock" and the elevator... I forsee major problems here.

Monday AM, better go check with the boss the time off is set.

....oh yeah, and all last week I learnt the meaning of "unreasonable request from
client cannot be refused." There will be blood, there will be blood, there will be blood...

Oh yeah, should add I saw Jersey Boys with the family this weekend.

Why couldn't it have been a open floor style stage so you could get up and dance / clap to Four Seasons classics
like Walk Like a Man, and Big Girls don't Cry?

Yes, Pixar goodness. The horse looked amazingly real. Lots of improvements in strand rendering (lots blade grass, hair, fur, etc all fully articulated and moved by what looked like a combination of wave and school motion).

@CPOK
Just HOW am I supposed to get it over here? Row? :-D

UHAUL now booked (I think, I trust these online newfangled dandies as far as I can kick them)

Oh yeah, heard Ernest Borgnine passed away... grew up watching him in Airwolf S1 - 3,
and recall him in Dirty Dozen, and a few others.

Tired Soul, Rest in Peace.

Tall and Cold, client is turning these last two weeks into the 'two weeks of unreasonable requests.'

Who cares about grass, hair .. it's the natural bb factor that defines animated goodness ....

There was a S2 and S3 of Airwolf? (imho after S1 it ended) .... Caitlin was hot though.. :) .. Oh yeah a redhead <grin>

BB? Don't you mean GBF? And you call yourself a true otaku.

Catlin v Jo, who do you think would win?

How's it over on this side of the pond? End up in a forest fire or sweltering heat? Crazily enough,
NOT having enough in my neck of the woods which rather irks me.

...heat I mean... it's barely breaking 25C the last couple days.

Thought I'd include this link for the daily news. It's right at my old workplace when I was IBM. Biiiiiiig outage in terms of companies / entities affected. IIRC :
- provincial health authority
- the local provincial trust bank
- govn't registries
- city 311 / info / non emerg line
- downtown 911 calling via cable phone
- ... to say nothing of the internet in the area.

So who thinks cloud / shared infrastructure is a good idea?

Last I heard, it's a work in progress to get things back up. And there's no shortage of pundits who're basically
saying "blahbalah...redundancy...blahblah...should have known better...blahablah...can't they work any faster?...
blahblah...will get to the bottom of this...etcetcetc."

I have 5 words for those types : cheap, fast, perfect. Pick two. Don't pick on the infrastructure, pick on whoever
freaking signed the papers to "consolidate" / whatever the fsck term the beancounters thought to use to sneak
THIS idea past management.

If I was part of the cleanup, I'd be letting loose with a long string of 4 letter explitives as well :-D

Saturday I think I got a moving story that tops them all : a) didn't sleep much the night before cuz of last minute
packing, b) picked up the van at the specified time, but got held up an hour cuz the back got used as an impromptu
party location -- you could tell by the smell, and I'll give the rental company they cleaned it up before handing
me the keys, c) drive down to my new place and the block is lined with firetrucks. Get alittle closer and find out
it's MY building that had the fire -- THANKFULLY nothing major, but basically lost my elevator time and made
my friends sit around and do jack while we waited for the fire department to declare everything safe.

So moved things up the elevator sunday with no issues thankfully, unfortunately did not get a chance to make another
run with the moving van for a couch, but it's not the end of the world.

...how was everyone else's weekend?

Tall and Cold, I'm back to work in 2 days, and a colleague gave me a preview of what awaits me

...Knew I shoulda stayed in bed today. Client's still up to their old tricks of "do [insert here] even though it isn't
in scope / contract / etc." Why, cuz they can and some high up looks good doing it :sighs:

Also, looks like another sad passing to mention -- donald sobol, author of the Encyclopedia Brown, Boy Detective
series. One of my favorite series growing up...

...Tired Soul, rest in Peace.
