@Tau: I could be better... But I could also be worse.

Long story short, a week before Thanksgiving my Dad was in the hospital for emergency surgery. He walked around for 4 days with a ruptured small intestine. He got a sever abdominal infection, which sent him to the hospital, and hence the surgery.

Of course, he drove himself to the hospital (and back).

He's home now and doing okay.

I finally figured out what that meant... and I'm not drunk yet. Definately brain cooking as I STILL can't

Well nuts! They ran out of XLs when I went to get em...

Tall and Cold... friday going to ATTEMPT to go out with friends again... then going to try and enjoy my weekend,
then MAYBE I'll get a list of repairs they're planning to the place. Basically looking and moving out again
so they can replace the flooring, then moving back in.

Well this weekend was ANOTHER FML!

This friday, get a call from the property mgr that went something like this :

PM : "contractor is going to come in monday to start ripping up your floors."

Me : "is there a written statement of what work needs to be done? Or a final scope of work for repairs"

PM : "No"

Me : "You DO know that there's no way in hell I'm going to be able to get a moving vehicle, much less
movers to get my things out, right?"

PM : "Yes"

Me : "...and the right way to do this would be for me to get my stuff out so you guys can do your work?"

PM : "Yes"

Me : "...and you have no written statement of work yet..."

Loop the above a few more times... so I end up spend all weekend playing Jenga / Tetris with my stuff...
never mind buying as many storage bins as I can lay my hands on to hold my stuff. If anyone wants to
see what my bathroom now looks like, lemme know and I'll find someplace to upload it to.

Seriously thought I'd have more lead time to prepare for this... but yeah...

It's going to be a VERY interesting Monday AM, that's for sure...

...and something tells me I'd better call tuesday off work as well, as I get the feeling the contractors
want to get this done before Christmas day...

Fun little factoid from the packing, I've 1134Liters (~300Gal) of anime... as it took 6x 189Liter / 50Gal rubbermaid bins to hold my collection
as it stands...

...well, SOMEhow it got done... contractor showed up, stripped out a large part of the hardwood flooring,
didn't have to move my desk or my bed much (which are arguably the biggest / heaviest furniture).

Getting used to seeing so much bare concrete and walking around in slippers... I'm not likely to have
normal flooring till after the New Year...

I want transporter.exe next time... beam it all out, hold it in transporter suspension till it's set to
materialize when and where you need in, in the exact orientation you need it.
