Sorry to dig up a months-old topic, but might as well reuse something that's already there than start a new one...and I really need to get this outta my system.

God I LOVE the manga. The anime is a different story...(although the OP is pretty damn catchy and was what got me into the series in the first place). Until I found out that FMP continued in the novels, this was pretty much the only series I was rabidly obsessing over.

Oh!Great is probably the only other manga artist (other than pre-Chobits CLAMP) whose artwork I truly admire. Nevermind the ecchiness--for every panty shot or cleavage boost he gives for the fanboys, he creates another piece of eye candy for the gals.

(Except Mitsuomi, though lately he's gotten better in terms of wardrobe.)

For those who are following but haven't yet caught up, scanlations for Ch 80 just got released, and translations + raw are online as well. I couldn't be happier that all the tension building over the past few months is finally gonna be released.

In regards to the anime, an OVA (Tenjou Tenge: Ultimate Fight, 2-3 eps?) and 2nd season are slated to be released sometime between this year & next year. (You didn't think they'd actually end the series where it left off, did you? :p)

:whistles: Those are some major changes. Well, I guess DC CMX needs to be convinced that enough adults will be buying the uncensored version to offset the complaints from moral conservatives and angry parents. It shouldn't be such a problem, they can shrink wrap it like Dark Horse does for Berserk.

Are there porn manga published in English here in the U.S.? Or is this the closest to one ever?

I haven't looked at the german version much yet, I bought the first couple of
volumes when they came out, but the story as a whole didn't quite grab me.
I might take another look at it, though. It's sold as an adult manga in germany, ie, you have to be 18 to buy it. Can't remember if they shrink wrap it like they do with Futari Echii (Manga Love Story) here. I guess in Europe they are much more used to eroticism in comics, since the Belgian and French artists are perhaps more, or just as popular as American comic artists are.

One thing I do like about the way manga is being released in Germany, is that it's mostly right-to-left, and released as Tankobon (ie graphic novels).
Viz and Dark Horse exposed me to manga, and I'm greatful for that, but the monthly comic book method of distribution takes too long. I remember that Viz was all proud at having started printing Inu Yasha around the same time it came out in Japan, but they are way behind the storyline as it appears in Japan.

But yeah, nothing really get's my goat but when a product gets licensed in the States, and then it gets "sanitized" and "westernized".

Some of Oh! Great!'s stuff has been printed in the US before, can't remember what publisher.
