depends if you severe the spinal cord or not.

Usually, you tilt your head back and jab the sword into the line between the jaw and the neck. That puts the sword right into the section of the brain connecting it to the spinal cord through the spinal cord opening in the skull. The sword tip would need to travel about 4-6 inches., depending on the size of one's head.

Now don't go trying this at home!

I've started watching this series, just finished ep2. So I've skipped most of this thread to avoid spoilers. But it's pretty entertaining so far. It's like Cowboy Bebop in the southeast Pacific. And pirates are cool. 8)
