Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

When ADV originally launched their FMP! page, I REAAAAAAAAAAALLY
wished that CG 3/4 shot of the Daanan they had floating towards the top
left they made available as a downloadable desktop (oh, 1280x1024+
rez preferably)

...anyway we can bug Ghost-01 about making that possible? :-D

can't you make a wallpaper out of a screencap? it'll take some time to fiddle with the resolution and such, but it can be worth it.

Okay, I/m generally computer illiterate, so what in the H E double hockey sticks are you talking about, RF.

Oh BTB, what in the hell is causing all the noise in Japan's summertime. Sound like static or traffic but usually it's the woods in the anime I watched. It's in Tenchi, Eva, Gunparade March.

Do you mean the cicadias? (they're bugs, like grasshoppers kinda, and make a chirping type noise with their legs or their wings..., I think)

Using a screencap to make a wallpaper? TV resolution is alot smaller than computers, it would be tough to clean one up enough to make it viable for a wallpaper, if you wanted to enlarge the image size, that is.

Yep, cicadias. They're there in Taiwan also in the summer whenever I go visit. Though not in the cities, they spend like 7 years as larve underground and live for 1 more year in in/on trees and die. Something like that.

I can tell ya, trying to double an image's size using bilinear or bicubic
filters (most common enlarge filters in image editor packages) will get
you as close to zilch as you can. You MAY be able to clean the image up
some, but alot of the fine details are going to end up washed or blurred out.

...anyone know where we can book time at the CIA's Imagery Specialists
facility? :-D

Depends on the show, I'd imagine. My boyfriend made me a Chrno Crusade desktop from a screencap, and it came out quite well, if you ask me. It's from the second opening, Chrno standing next to a biplane. He edited out the snow artifacts (they looked horrid when screencapped), and did something to "remove the artifacts on his braid."

Oh, Screen Captures. I'm a dumbass.

Cicadas make that much noise? We have cicadas here in the Georgia (USA) but they ain't that bad of a noise maker. Hell I thought that cicadas had a 17 year to mature. Must be different in the West Pacific.

I would post a link, but he hasn't given his OK to do so. Also it's a 1024x768 image. He used Adobe After Effects to get the screen cap (though I think Premiere would have been easier), and Photoshop to clean it up. He didn't do much editting--just removing some artifacts and adjusting the contrast a bit. I think he used a combination of the clone and paintbrush tool to clean it up. (There was snow on the original image, but it showed up as horizontal lines on the screencap.) There's no added text, just the screencap.
