I picked up the first manga, seems amusing enough. Though I must admit I am thinking I'm picking this up a bit late.

The manga is pretty far though, the anime is cool too. My post probably doesn't move past fan boy ramble but I don't care. Bleach rules^^

Bleach is licensed.

Well, it's been that way since early February, but no one noticed.

I can hear the Bleachtards screaming.

Actually, that is just a rumor, there has been no conformation from Viz that the anime has been licensed. Besides the fact that it would be either ADV or FUNiMATION picking it up and not Viz.

And please don't call bleach fans "bleachtards".... Bleach has a heck of alot more substance than Naruto, and the term "Narutards" represents those crazy naruto fans that instead of taking alittle time and making a true costume (which is not very hard for naruto) they just run around with the little head bands, screeming out attacks and being just generally annoying..... /rant

As for the Bleach anime.... so yea, watched the new ep tonight (71) and [ecs] dang it when is Orihime going to jump Ishida or the other way around???? Otherwise awesome ep, very Ishida-centric, and a LITTLE insight to his loss of Quincy-dom.... and preluding to him getting it back. YAY!!! [/ecs]

Actually, it was very likely that Viz would "officially" license it. First of all, Viz owns the rights to everything else Bleach related in the US. Secondly, Viz is directly linked to the folk who produce the Bleach anime. The series is theirs.

Also, the license is official:

Viz Media Acquires Bleach Anime (06:36 PM EST): According to this report from C21 Media back on February 6th, Viz Media has acquired the Bleach anime in order to push more into the teen anime market.

As for the other two picking it up and not Viz... well, ADV's in no financial condition to license a series that will likely go 100+ episodes. Funi could have gotten it, but again, Viz already owns the rights to all other Bleach material.

Bleachportal is still maintaining it's a rumor, so until the Viz site is officially updated with the press release, I'm not jumping the gun about it.

And also, Funimation did the FMA anime, while viz did the manga, so there is always the possibility that another house will do the dubbing.

Oh and Viz I think is a wee bit pissed at madman for going over there heads and forcing them to give there dubs and subs to madman over Ranma 1/2 and Inu Yasha. They got the licance for Austalia/New Zealand
