Blast from the past ... (German TV)

Well the Canadians or other Eurotrash might have seen it too ..

I remember an animation and it includes the following:
Saw it in the 80's

It was Sci-Fi setting.
I remember a Spaceship with a big dome.
There was a old man with a metal skull
A Child on a hostile jungle planet.

Could be that the old man was that child (maybe he was telling a story?)

i live in germany but i have no clue
it was an animated series? i'm pretty sure there are not many german series around.
all the stuff of my youth was either american oder japanese

It was featured in the Ferienprogramm on ZDF middle to late 80's
Might have been a French animation (though a Japanese anime studio had it hands in it.
