In case some of you didn't know, Carl Macek, the man who brought Macross to the US as RoboTECH has passed away this Saturday.
I never liked the fact that he tied 3 unrelated anime together and that he gave himself way too much credit for what he did but if it wasn't for him, I would not have gotten into anime at all.

Yeah I heard the news ... I also watched "his" G-Force team when I was young

Like KiLIEr, RoboTech was one of the first anime shows I got interested in. I know a lot of people disagree with the approach they took, but I think it was still an important factor in the introduction of anime to the US. Hope folks accentuate the good the guy did. I mean, at least he was in there giving it a go.
