It's a coin-toss right now between Chidori's apt and a motel..
Yeah, I can't deny the humor aspect of having Chidori with
her boytoy under the same roof.. plus I've got a scene in mind that
would be better played out this way if they were together.

On the other, I can't see Kalinin taking to playing matchmaker
between the two... or would I

Good news, after a two-night writing session, Chap 2 is done... I think.
Expect to see it posted within the next 48hours max. If not, kick me til

Starting on Chap 3, which as I said, is pure GunBunny bliss! I didn't
mind writing for Chidori, Sagara, et al. but I just HAD to write in all
the military tech stuff that made FMP so fun!!

Trying to get in all the chars we're all so familar with and love. Don't
worry, wouldn't deliberately leave out/forget anyone... I hope

I'd buy it.
I don't know what his real deal is, but I could (currently) see Kalanin quietly supporting Sousuke getting an education (and a place) in the world outside of the military, and that could reasonably include playing match-maker- esp. after the point in the story where your fic seems to be.

We see in the Bohemoth arc that he appears to dislike the use of kids in military situations- what must he think of Sousuke's life? He is also considreably protective of Tessa while at the same time attempting to instill certian qualities in her, without really showing it (consider what he says at the end of the Tes-Mao duel ep).

I could see him choosing to set-up the school student cover for Sousuke, with the side intent of him being exposed to civilian living.
Consider the praise he gives Kaname in ...ep 11?
And Kalanin knows she's beating the shit out of him

Perhaps he had hoped that such a situation could develop, in order to help Soususke grow up to be more than just a perfect soldier. *shrug*

Forza - Typical types. JAG stories usually start in 1 military installation or other anyway.

BR - Not a chance in hell I'm going to let the people here read what I write... it embarasses the hell out of me to submit any of my works.

Thanks for your personal insights into Kalinin, which about jives what
I've had rolling inside my head about why he and Mardukas are where
they are. I mean, they're both well into their 40s, Kalinin's possibly over
60, who knows. They're only Major / Commander rank (O-4 or O-5),
which is pretty low for their age-bracket. Seems no significant others or
anyone waiting for them back in civillian life. So why are they there,
and more importantly, why are they staying there?

And I think you mentioned in another thread how they're both giving
'on-the-job' support/training to Tessa, tho personally I suspect there's
more to it than just simply training... Well, it's all in my head, have to
get it down on paper now!!
