question/comment on series end (spoiler)

I don'0t really know what say about her. I think she likes the friction in there relationship. I just find the characters play off each other well. However much they annoy each other they can't seem to stay away from each other. I just hope there is more storyline to gobble up if you know what I mean.

Remember later on Chidori was carrying a her pack and Sagara was carrying his too. Perhaps what he told Tessa was that he decided to leave Mithril. That would be enough to shake Tessa and make her cry. Chidori could have went back by herself; everything was resolved and Sagara wasn't needed anymore. But, you see him with his pack and with Chidori.

And don't forget the moment when Chidori watched Tessa cry against Sagara. She didn't fight tears or struggle with emotions. She merely watched and walked away in a carefree style. (with her arms crossed behind her back)

Sagara leaving the battles and such for Chidori...It's a possibility...

First of all, welcome to the forum.

I believe your theory have a few problems:

1)Chidori certainly was rolling her suitcase along, but then Sagara only had hit fishing equipment with him when he took her to his fishing spot.

2)Chidori made a point that she's leaving the island in 40 mins, and Sagara said that was okay, he just wanted to stay with her for awhile. implicating that he was not going back to Tokyo with her, at least not immediately. (Understandable, since there was probably a mountain of followup and debreifing to be done after Gauln's little spin in the TDD.)

3)We know for certain that Sousuke didn't leave Mithril, since the novel continues after the anime plot.

4)Hmm. certainly didn't seem carefree to me, the way Chidori walked away, but then again, she was never very forward with her emotions when Sagara is concerned.

5)Tessa probably broke into tears cause of all the emotion that was pent up in her. She is not the hardcore military type like Karinin, Sagara or Madukas, and she values people's lives, especially the MIthril mercs under her command greatly. 2 of her own people died in the highjack. Sousuke's words of encouragement served to open the proverbial floodgate of tears for Tessa.

All your reasons are very logical and controverses with what I had said before. I don't think Sousuke would actually leave Mithril anyways.

Perhaps your last reason is the best choice. Sousuke might have said something like: "You can cry on me if that would help, Captain" or "Captain, you are strong even if you shed tears to mourn for lost ones." No one else would really say that to her since that's not something one would say often to a Captain.

But now for real. Sagara's bag was for his fishing (just like URZ-zero said) at least that is what I think. Tessa's could have been for anything. Maybe she had to go to headquaters for a debriefing or had still some vacationday open

Knowing Sagara as he is in the series, he couldn't come up with such an idea. Even if he did, just like you said, it would be highly inapropriate for a sergeant to say such a thing to a captain.

Well those two seem to had a thing going on (atleast on Tessa's side) .. so i guess he could say it.

i thought the ending was rather disappointing, i was ready to burst out in tears

... albeit the japanese think kissing is 'erotic', it still (imo) would've been appropriate

plus, the feeling that you were about to sniffle a storm, and then not being able to, doesn't feel the greatest

i guess it was kinda like climbing a ladder, but then at the top rungn you find that nothing's there and you have to begin climbing back down :\

Not exactly. Pretty hard to catch a fish when you're kissing someone don't you think? Besides, I've seen to many shows end that way... at least the ending was original... and funny.

Speaking of catching the fish at the ending...

I don't wanna sound weird or anything, but did anyone notice where Sagara had his hands when he was holding onto Chidori? It looked as though he was groping her. o_O Not really grabbing her, but holding onto her there. Chidori did move suddenly because of the fish so Sagara did jump up to help her quickly. But then again, he might not have been.

Anyways...I could be wrong. =)

Well, I didn't say that he was doing it on purpose. Besides, Sagara is pretty mature, even mature for his age and such. He just doesn't know much about romance and love since he's never encountered it before. He doesn't really need reason for it either. (Until he met Chidori. ^__^)
