Andes Mountains, Colombian-Peruvian border
Tessa exited the copter and was greeted by the humidity of the area. She was hurried over to Kallinin as the copter was being filled with wounded.
"I hope the flight wasn't bad, Captain." said the graying Russian.
"I didn't notice, Major. Your report consumed my attention. What actually happened here?" she asked as she scanned the field she landed on. A number of downed Mechas and armored vehicles were struned over the battlefield. She couldn't believe that anybody could survive this carnage. Her thoughts drifted to the AS duel with Melissa. She could barely function in that fight, griped by fear and the quickness of action needed in that fight. That fight was with paint guns and rubber blades. Here she saw the destructive power of those AS's and other equipment. Another thought came to her. How could the FARC get this much equipment and be this proficent at it? She felt that the last year was too quiet and knew that the new year would be bad, very bad.
"Ah, Captain, did you her anything I said?" said Kalinin.
" I'm sorry, Kalinin. I was thinking about the horror of war and my very brief time in it. It is amazing and terrifing that any human could function in that enviroment." said the petite young lady.
The Russian put a strained smile on. "I guess this is your first time seeing this destructiveness first hand. For me, I have been accustomed to it, so for me I just not think about it. However, I do see your point. I guess that is how I deal with it. I push it aside." a brief pause came over the two. Then the crackle of thunder and the skies opened up.
"If its not raining, its not training, my drill sergeant said" as Melissa, Kurz, and Souske walked up to the to commanders.
"Report Sergent Major." commanded the Russian.
"Mission accomplised, sir. All twenty hostages are here and accouynted for. Only two M9s, mine and Kurz, are operational along with Souske's Arbelast. The other nine M9s are OOC. 3 pilots and 12 soliders are dead and 4 pilots and 12 soliders are injured. Enemy loses are 12 Savages, 12 T-64s, 15 BTRs and 3 Napoleons. " Melissa sounded off.
'Napoleons' thought Tessa as Melissa continued.
"Those bastard Frogs are doing again. They are selling thier high tech stuff to any one. Those 3 Mechs took down 6 M9s with some kind of new weapon."
At this time Souske collapsed into exhaustion and fell, right into Tessa's arms. Tessa was horrified about Souske.
How could this happen? He's not injured is he? Why is he not moving? as Kurz and Melissa took Souske from her arms. Kallinin was saying something as Tessa felt a slick coolness on her arms. She looked down as saw blood. Souske's blood.
'This not supposed to be happening. He' s not supposed to die' thought Tessa as Kurz, Melissa, and Kalinin were doing what they could to stop the bleeding.

Chapter A1 Part 2
Twilight, Off the Coast of Colombia
Tuatha de Danaan
Tessa was in the conning tower since she heard the news that Souske was being operated on. Some piece of shrapnel was lodge near the liver and had cut a number of arteries. While she not heard any news about it, she was confident that Souske would pull through. Between his unwillingness to die and Dr. Meriweathers expertise, it was a forgone conclusion. What upset her was her action when he passed out. She had been petrified by fear and it could have cost Souske's life if it wasn't for Kalinin, Melissa, and Kurz actions. She prided herself on being calm in any situation, but this is the second time that she was paralyzed by fear. When would be the next?
Another problem was Kaname. Her rival for Souske's affections. Kaname would be anxoius to hear from Souske soon, and would be furious over not being told about Souske's condition. 'As Would I, if the situation was reversed' she thought to herself. She resolved to call Kaname once Souske was out of danger. She looked south and saw the Maggelenic Clouds and sighed. 'I wonder who is looking down at me from those stars and are they having similar problems.' as she pondered about what affect Souske's injury would have.
" And how do I explain to High Command the loss 9 M9s to drug runners?" she asked those same stars.
" Sometimes the stars do answer your question, Captain" as Kallinin step out of the door on to the conning tower. "However, usually the answer has more questions?"
"Does it get any easier, Mister Kalinin?" she said as she laid her head on her arms.
" What, madame Captain?"
" Command, I mean? I feel so alone when I order them out and they come back hurt or dead. I keep telling my self that they under stood the risks and take them, but I still have a part of me that wishes I could do more." said the platnium blonde lady as she gazed over the ocean.
"Have you ever heard of General Robert E. Lee?" said the Russian.
"Yes, remember that I've spent part of my life in Virgina, his home state."
" Have you have read his diary?"
"No"
"Please do so, Then ask me that question again" he said. " Oh by the way, Souske is all right. He is asleep right now. Dr. Meriweathers says that he'll be fine in a couple of days."
"Good, I should see him and apologize." said the Captain.
" For What may I ask?"
"For not reacting fast enough. If it wasn't for you, Melissa, or even Kurz, he would have died. I froze again." She was shaking from the outburst of emotion.
" Everybody has frozen when unexpected happens. It is only natural for..."
" Not for a Captain, Mister Kalinin. I acted like a........"
" 17 year old girl who had her love nearly die in her arms. you do not think that any of us would have done the same?" he said. "Many of us had friend and or love one die on us or for us. We just have more experience in doing things in a snap. Just do not think that you are the only one who wonders if I did this here, would the outcome change. Look at Robert E. Lee's diary and see how one of the most brillant and beloved general in all of history deals with the vary things you face. It is an eye opener." as Kalinin walked back through the hatch as a Junior officer came to the conning tower.
"Commander Mardukas wishes to know if you want to dive as schedule, Cap'n" said the JO.
" Yes I do" as she left the tower to go to her quarters.
I always see Kalinin more sypathetic with Tessa than Mardukas.
There is alot more to this. I am sorry about not doing the battle scene but I feel I just couldn't do it justice.

Thanks guys
Thank for the reveiws so far. I must aplogize again for my destruction of the English language.
To Hellfire, I only know the weaponry from what little is on the DVD so my knowledge of FMP! weaponry is limited. I do have however have some knowledge on real weaponry and tactics from personal experience serving in the US Navy and being friends with alot of former and current military personnel. That and also play alot of RPGs ( not the ones that go boom) .

Tessa-centric fanfic... I Likes!! We're rather short on those right now...
As for fixing your spelling / grammar, some reliance on your built-in
grammar/spellchecker is good, though never hurts to go back to your
english teacher
off listing the stuff for FMP!, and am TRYING to find time to start Fumoffu's
