"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

On a good day, a Tomahawk can fly into the door of a two-car garage at the distance of several hundred miles. And that can ruin your whole day.

I AM VICTORIOUS!!!!!!!!!!
Last Exile comes out tomorrow on dvd but I managed to ask nicely to one of the guys at Best Buy today to see if they might have it in the back. Low and behold, the guy comes back and hands me the boxset, it took all I had not to glomp him.
I haven't had the chance to watch it yet but I'll let ya's know how the dub is later tonight.
It will be released as 7 dvds and the 1st dvd has 4 eps on. (its 26 eps long and Pioneer has licensed it)

Sadly, no it seemed that Best Buy didn't have the limited ed. sets cause some came with the doll and some came with a mousepad (which neither of them had)Jae wrote:Another 7-discer? Well, not surprising from (get your) Geneon
Which box did you get? If you got the one with the figure, is it a nice figure? (well formed, well painted, ect)
I wished they would've offered the OST like they did with Witch Hunter Robin boxset, cause its pretty good as well.

Just finished watching LE myself. So let me get this straight: Blanked
out in case anyone hasn't finished watching it two seperate nations (on Earth?)
are seperated physically by the Grand Stream, a place of high winds
and legends, especially a ship? known as EXILE. Thru the 4 Mysteriums
and Alvis, one can control EXILE which is either the original colony ship
of the world's creator, or as seen in the last ep, a way to physically
merge the two worlds, for which Delphine and Alex & Co. are competing
for. That sound about right?
Animation's top notch -- pretty much any Gonzo I've watched I've NEVER
been let down in that dept. -- and neither is the story! Look forward to
seeing my anime club's reaction to the end.
@Beckster
You're right... Death to the Queen B*TCH!! I feel sad for the loss of
Luciora. Dio seems to have taken a long walk off the short plank of
sanity at the end. Happy endings all around... the Moran family
get-together was uber kawaii!! Tied up what happened to Claus &
Lavi's fathers and their ship -- last tug of the heartstrings, excuse me
a moment
...nothing really left me with the feeling of: DO MORE LE!! DO MORE LE!!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to anyone I meet!

Hot damn! This thread is still around?
I thought it was gone.... Anyway, got to marathon it fairly recently, I thought it was pretty damn good.... recommended (by me at least).
(now I have to re-read this thread, maybe it'll make sense now)

The audience applauded, even though it was not clear what Bush meant.
I watched the whole series recently too and forgot to post my comments on it .
I thought this series was great until like half way when
Well aside from that, the animation and action are great. I really like the fantasy world too. If the story is a little better, it would be a masterpiece in my mind. Watching the series makes me wanna drop out of college and join the air force, even if I can only be a ground crew .

Well, that just really bugged me. I didn't think the Japanese voice actress for Alvis was good either, her acting is rather mono-toned.every one of the girls start to have feelings for that guy Claus. Especially Lavie, I thought of her relationship with Claus more as something like brother-sister, Fox Mulder and Diana Scully, type of relationship. Best of friends beyond romance.

Some spoilers:
But I do agree that the direction and/or writing seemed sort of spotty in some spots.
BTW Hellfire, what you said in your quote box, is pretty much what I got out of it more or less.
I did like that although the main charas were young, the story wasn't either a kiddie story, or had a kiddie atmosphere.I could realistically see why some of the girls went for him- not-unattractive skilled brave guy shows up, youngish....and you're out on this airship a part of some rebel faction, what are your chances? I honestly didn't get the thing with what's her name? The glasses one. I mean... huh???
As for Lavie, well, regardless of if her feelings were romantic (I dunno if they were), I would expect her to be madly jealous. For so long it's been only her and Claus.. and now he's gonna go spend his time with some bimbo? It would leave her alone and the plans they had potentially unfilled, in her view. Their comfortable partnership broken.

Hmm... Last Exile is going to be aired on my MTV (from next month, they say)
What do you think about the dubbed version? I think my dubbed version will be based on the English one, so if yours was good there's a chance it will be good here, too. (on FMP we got a really awful Tessa voice ; but, for example, we got an Excel voice almost better than the original )

...maybe tis time for me to start saving up for the LE set
I'd pretty much agree with what Jae said about the Lavi / Claus
relationship. IMO she's rightly jealous Claus has forgotten
their great dream to pass through the Grand Stream to get into something
he doesn't quite fully understand or appreciate. She compensates by
finding ways to keep close to him -- being his mechanic f'rinstance,
but feels constantly shut out by the 'advances' of the other female chars.
For Tatiana's little 'crush' on Claus, it's not unexpected the resident Ice
Queen would get a chance to fall for our dashing hero, though in every
case she's forced to come to terms with her human side.
As for the First Officer Sofia and her... little scene with Claus kinda
dripped of male wish-fulfillment. The one romance that REALLY creeped
me out was right after Claus and Tatiana got back on Sylvana, and that
mech guy got caught in the gym about his own 'feelings' for Claus. ERGH!!!
