Am I the only one not excited about this? I thought the CG looked rather bleh myself. Then again, I seem to be the only one in the world who thought the original movie was actually pretty good, so LOLO I'M DUMB.

And what's this BOOM BOOM crap everyone is babbling about?

I was watching CNN today, and lo, on Next @ CNN they had a piece on Appleseed. Pretty much talked about how they're setting their sights on exporting it for adults and young adults internationally, how inexpensive it is in comparison to Hollywood films, that stuff. Also mentioned how some music artists were so impressed by it (not just LOL JAPANESE PEOPLE, I might add), they volunteered some of their work to be used in the film. Of course, I can't even remember who they were, so that ain't exactly a good sign.

They showed a lot of footage that they didn't in the trailer, and I must say, I thought it looked considerably more impressive. Well, I can safely say I'm actually looking forward to this now.

I got this today from an anime email news I get:

+ Appleseed will be in 3 parts - Following news from the Tokyo
International Anime Fair
that there were plans for a second Appleseed movie, it has been
revealed that there will
in fact be 3 Appleseed movies. Without even waiting to gauge the
success of the first movie,
it has been decided that production would start on the second movie,
with its release planned
for 2005. Preparations for the second movie began even before the
completion of production on
the first movie, back in September. The first Appleseed Movie premieres
in Japan on April 17th
and will be released in North America by Geneon this summer.

(I thought the first movie was already showing in japanese theatres?)

Well, I know they got kick-AZZ CG, let's

...any new news, lately? Hit Geneon's site and they have the Appleseed
movie on their scrolling banner up there... they CAN'T'VE already gotten
the rights to that... have they?
