Flaws

Post by Kelek »

Random flaws that I found in both seasons--contains spoilers, obviously.
Since I saw Jae's comments and the flaws she's spotted in the episodes (episode summaries, FMP site), I've been looking out for more...yes, this is a waste of time. :D Yes, it is useless. But it is kind of interesting. :-P By the way, I'm very dry and sarcastic here--I typed this in some document a while ago when I was in a diffrent mood. Deal with it. :o :-P

. Episode 20 in FMP--Kalinin's giving a report on their mission against Venom. Melissa and Kurz come in. Melissa: 'We're late.' Kurz: 'We made the taxi go fast. Phew!' They're on the TDD-1, so unless it's some kind of special, high-tech underwater taxi...
. In Episode 12, Fumoffu, Melissa and Kurz are posing as 'research students at college.' Later at the hot springs, Mizuki comments on how pretty Melissa's skin is and she replies that she gets constantly injured on her job... Yes, her job is researching vile and dangerous bacteriological weapons or explosive, dangerous chemicals at school...(cough, cough).
. The M9 in episodes 1-3 that the trio have to use cannot possibly fit in the 'Macaroni Italic' truck, much less seem like a small room for them to walk around in.
. Episode 1--The trio are in the helicopter about to take off. Kurz asks Sousuke if he will really be all right and Melissa tells them Tessa was worried about him. Sousuke replies that it is an important mission, after all, but Melissa and Kurz chuckle and she says it wasn't about that. But we know Tessa didn't even meet Sousuke yet, so she shouldn't like him yet like how she starts to later in the story.
. In Episode 8, Mizuki takes 'Shirai' out on a date. Her friend compliments her: 'Your sandals are super cute!' Mizuki's wearing high heels. (OK, I don't know if I'm wrong or not, but I consider high heels shoes...or maybe it was the translation that was wrong.)
. When Kurz is fighting Gaulun for the first time in the forest, he's in his M9 and the round shell thing that locks over his shoulders is brown like the inside of the AS. In the last scene when he shoots at Gaulun, where he's saying 'Go to hell,' the shell thing is army green.
. Episode 16, Tessa is sitting next to Kalinin's bed (why the hell is he still injured--is glass in you rback that serious? He's been prone in bed since episode 12 or so!)--and imagines Sousuke in the doorway, saying Hi, I'm back. The stool she's sitting on is dark magenta. After she 'sees' Sousuke, we see her sitting there again, disappointed. The stool is now a very dark green, almost black.
. In the Helmajistan episodes, one of the Mithril-hired assassins, Batist (spelling's off?), has a dead, closed eye or something. It changes sides sometimes, from right to left to right to left to right again. I found this so funny because it changes so often. Maybe he's just grimacing all the time, but... :-P

Well, that's it for now. And this doesn't mean I don't like it. I was trying to notice these flaws because I like FMP. Lol. Doesn't make sense. Never mind. :-P

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

It would fit Kurz's sense of humor, since he tends to have a joke for every situation.

It's probably just a joke (as said previously by others).
Labs can be dangerous... Besides, it depends on what you're researching.
. The M9 in episodes 1-3 that the trio have to use cannot possibly fit in the 'Macaroni Italic' truck, much less seem like a small room for them to walk around in.
Ever heard of a Planck bubble? It is the TDD after all... ;)
I think its pretty safe to say Tessa has in fact met Sousuke before, I mean a captain not knowing one of her sergeants is kind of odd... Chances are Tessa was interested in Sousuke already, but hadnt had a chance to see his personality until the whole 'Behemoth' storyline.
Agreed, I'd say they goofed up on this one, seeing how in the .jp version they say "sandaru".
. When Kurz is fighting Gaulun for the first time in the forest, he's in his M9 and the round shell thing that locks over his shoulders is brown like the inside of the AS. In the last scene when he shoots at Gaulun, where he's saying 'Go to hell,' the shell thing is army green.
I saw it as being metal like the interior, and then black (like his suit), but any rate this one is definately a screw-up.
First, concerning how serious broken glass is...
As for the stool, I saw it as being magenta, then black... In this case it's just at such a distance (and with the light creating a shadow on that side) its drawn as black, as it was in every other distant-camera shot of that room.
Didnt bother to check this one, but sounds pretty shady. Probably just them being lazy.
All the links in my sig went dead. ; ;

Tessa already liked Sousuke before they 'met'. I believe they had already 'met' before in their respective roles, however they had never 'met' casually.

Tessa decided she liked Sousuke from afar- his records and reports, what great things Kalanin (and possibly Melissa) had to say about him, he's not unattractive, about her age, and very proper and unthreatening.
She gets flustered a couple of times in the first story arc, because of her interest in Sousuke ;)

And for the sandals, I'd have to look at her shoes again, but high heels can be called sandals if they are strappy, or have open toes with alot of other openings. If they were just pumps, then calling them sandals is just sooo wrong
The audience applauded, even though it was not clear what Bush meant.

@ Russian Fox: Hey, I did say I liked it and that's why I was watching out for any flaws. :-P

@Eidolon: Sure.

Oh, and another "flaw"--or else I consider it one--is how when characters get injured and after they're treated, most are automatically shown with bandages all over them even though most of them didn't have any open wounds in those places at all. This shouldn't really be considered a flaw, though, since it's just for show (to show they're injured) but I'm deciding to put it anyway...

concerning episode 1:
after the death of Captain Bunny Morauta (creator of Arbalest and Al, Tessa's former love object), Tessa was "forced" to direct her feelings toward Sousuke. This happened before Arbalest was completed. That fits perfectly in the FMP story continuum. I hope that helps.

:) Oh, OK. Thanks, Dannan. I didn't read the novels too well; I only skimmed over them and read the parts I found interesting.]

About Mizuki's sandal issue--my friend spoke with her previously
Japanese friend and she told her those pumps actually are called
"sandals" sometimes. (That is so wrong...)

More flaws:

Some characters are too short to participate in whatever military
services they are/were in. (No specified episode.)

Materials closest to the skin should have disintegrated first,
rather than outer clothing first, then underwear, as was shown.
(Episode 15 in Fumoffu.)

The Tuatha de Danaan can't do that--meaning, in general, it's
just impossible. (No specified episode.) Reference this,
along with the stats (the ones that pop up in a little javascript
box) on the official FMP website and compare.

Also, this isn't an accusation of how FMP is bad. Just remember
that. :)

could be that the undies have a high cotton content, which makes them last longer than polyester garments. ;)
