as any one else read this manga??
because i think that you guys should look into it.
its really great.
the main character girl is literail kidnapped by a punk and a cross dresser and when she wakes up (why do girls always faint in these things?) there is this other odd girl with really big lips sitting in front of her. well turns out that they dont want to hurt her, they just want to have her model their fashion line Paradise Kiss at their school fashion show. yes they are in high school and got to a fashion school. okay well at least i think they are in high school.
okay so then this (not sure if he is british or austrailian because she says stuff from both.) other guy who claims to be their leader comes. his name is George and he is very um, i dont really know the right word to describe him.
well then it just kind of take off in weird stuff. aka them trying to find the right fabric to make a dress. having a dress up party. Geroge interupting everyting that Yukari tryes to do, like study. (oh yeah thats the main character.)

well if you like goofy things. with guys that have more peicies that i am years old. cross dressers thats name are isabel.(its a guy) and one very hot and heavy couple after only the first book. (that would be George and Yukari. (which now that i think about it i dont think that is her name. but that is what the website says. oh why is this world so crue?)

so have any of you read it?

It's great, I love it. I'm looking foward to getting to read some of Yazawa's other works...

no i went throught the first one in the store and started to look through the second.
i am planing on getting them all.
but right after i read it i went on the interenet and looked up all sorts of stuff. (well not really i went to tokypop, because other places might give away the good stuff.)
but i am totally in love with it and buy as much as i can tomorrow.
i think this is the most original manga i have seen out there.
its great

Yup, she has more.

I think (but am not certian) that the series featuring a younger Miwako and her sister will be published here... And I'm pretty sure they'll eventually bring out her current series, Nana.

She also did some drawings for Princess Ai, that Courtney Love vehicle, but I'm not sure if she just did one inner cover pic or what ...

Princess Ai is surprisingly okay.
although i know that Courtny had something to do with it i have no idea what.
personaly i dont think hollywood should be allowed to touch manga.
because i bet anythign that all the die hard fans will not touch it now.
because face it, anime people just dont like hollywood.
okay well i do like it, but i think they are all way to bitchy.
and she tainted the manga. i just pushed that out of my mind when i read it.
yeah i also read that one in the store.
i have alot of free time

i just want to know one thing
why do they give the main girl two names??? her name is carline or some thing like that and then the other times its yu-whatever
and george has a japanese name too but no one uses it.
but i thought he was all forigen.

I borrowed Kare Kano vol 1 from my local library. Yes, the city library has a small collection of comics, manga, and anime

. Anyways, I saw an ad for Paradise Kiss in the back and it said, "Tired of the same old manga? Try something refreshingly different. Ai Yazawa's Paradise Kiss. Where high fashion and deep passion collide." Sounds a little cheesy and vague but I'll keep this title in mind if I'm hungry for more shoujo.

the art work it great.
not like the cookie cutter manga.
and that add makes it look really stupid.
they need to get new advertising agents

Yea, their eyes are closed in that ad, anyways I went on ANN's website to look at its info and their eyes are the usual shoujo style, so I edited that comment out but Esyla caught it before I did

Yeah, her name's Yukari. In the first couple of pages when she was trying to run off, Miwako called after her but didn't know her real name so she called her Caroline

And it stuck with that gang...

I don't remember what George's deal is

He's too cool to need any explainations heh.

One thing I really liked about the series is that the cast is very quirky- no bland, boring, vanilla main characters. In fact, irl those two probably wouldn't be likable at all

okay that explains it.
the first pages are great
when they chase her and then she passes out.
oh i was laughing so hard
and then one of the people that worked at the store asked me if i needed any help.
and i was like "no i think i will get this one." and then walked away really quickly and came back when they were gone.

your right george could do anything without an explaination. because he is just that cool

why does the one girl always speak in third person?
i read the ending so i thought that i might not get the rest.
but then i read the first one completely, no just skim.
and i like it more than before.
