Heights in FMP (split from Kurtz's FC)

where did u get that?

I split this because it doesn't have anything to do with worshipping Kurtz anymore. And it's apparently an issue people are interested in.

Google 'metric'

I didn't double check the stat of 180cm for Kurtz, but that's 5'9.

If the 180 is correct, remember that the author and his audience are japanese, where the average height tends shorter. And, that bit in the original language might not have been meant to mean only height but maybe meant more along the lines of build.

I'm pretty sure he's taller than Sousuke...it should be obvious. Sousuke is 174 cm. Is that right?

Sousuke's 174cm, or 5'7.

lol, no look if kurz is 5'9 in the series, he seems to be almost half a head taller. That means sousake is a midget then at 5'5! I thought he was taller...AAArg i hate metric units

Actually Sousuke is 5' 8.5
Kurz is very close to 6'

These comr from the official DVD booklets.

Here's all the chara's heights they give, and the conversions:

Sousuke 174 5'7 (5.708 if you want to be exact)
Kaname 166 5'4
Melissa 165 5'4
Kurtz 180 5'9

Tessa 158 5'1 (.18 almost 5'2)
Tokiwa 153 5'0
Kalinin 160 5'2 (<- Not a typo! He's also 90kg, and the translator in ADV's version adds the comment that he should look a lot heavier. Go figure, he doesn't

)

They're drawn to be attractive, not realistic...... And the dvd's don't include any of the other characters, and I didn't check the books to look for your fave Fumo people.

no way, Kalinan is 5'2? They should really update their stats to match how they are drawn. You would think Kalinin is eye to ey with sousake

Got it from the official site in centimeters. Then I used a website to convert the cm to feet and inches.

Which official site? ADV's site has the same numbers the DVDs do.

Here's a nice caculator. It comes up with the same numbers, every time

There was one rough height guide in that book of the anime designs.
The long one with the green cover? But the pic is not accurate- everybody looks right 'cept for Kalinin who's the tallest.

I suspect the decision to draw him that tall was done to make him look more authortative, but they're not going to change numbers that already existed just for the anime.

Anime is drawn for appearances- but the numbers are drawn from a story where appearances don't matter.

Sousuke - 5' 8.5
Kurz - near 6'

(Have to remember 0.7 feet x 12 = 8.5 inches)
