Outlanders

Post by Andrei Burnside »

Got the Outlanders manga in the mail yesterday.

If you're looking for an awesome space opera this is it. It centers on a Japanese Photographer (Tetsuya Watasuki) and an Alien Princess (Kahm) from the Sankovatsu empire. Essentially...earth is their "sacred planet" and they attack the "invaders" (us). Plot goes a bit deeper than that, but you might want to read the manga, it's centered on the romance between Tetsuya and Kahm. It's not nearly all romance, and has a good mix of comedy, action, soft moments, and violent ones. An enjoyable reading experience...be warned for the underage: nudity, alcohol, graphic violence, sexual jokes and swearing are present...just like in real life.

I've throughly enjoyed reading the ones I've got and it was well worth the money spent.

You can get outlanders at TFAW (Things from another world)
or http://www.tisinc99.com/outlandersvol1.html (I'm only providing these because it's a bitch to find and order).

I believe the OVA is unlicensed...or it was fansubbed illegally. Baka-Fansubs produced the fansub. It's a super condensed version (Volumes 1-4 and it leaves out five through eight) and is an somewhat accurate depiction of the story. Not nearly as good of course.

I was kind of hoping it was gonna be about the books of the same name. oh well.

(the books are about the world after a nuclear war)
Anime: its not about the big guns, Its about the bouncies!
