some sorta General Error

Twice in a row after posting a reply, I got this message:

Thanks Circle...

That smtp DEBUG is the old mailserver bit... plz let me know and when you guys see it.

The rest of it, not sure what to think yet. Ive seen that on occassion in other places...I wanna know if anybody else sees something like that too.

Saw which?

I know Taurec saw the DEBUG error.

But I want to know which you saw. The DEBUG is less interesting to me, since I know what it is and there ain't much I can do about it.
(its what you see when the forum can't contact the mailserver)

I still want to know when ppl see DEBUG, but I'm more interested in the other thing.

A connection to a SMTP server was being made and the host fmp.abstractica.org connot or would not respond to the request. I suggest you disabled this feature Jae nowadays it will fail 80% of the time since mail servers are only allowing connections from designated IP addresses. Unless of course you switch it to the lunarpages mail server.

That stuff is generated because the PHP script is trying to add new HTTP headers, and the headers were already emitted due to the previous error message that was sent to the browser.

The BBS's configuration has the debug option enabled, which is why you get this.

Lunarpages has PHP default all scripts to show all warnings and errors, instead of the typical "fatal only' or 'none' mode that other hosts default to.

If you don't want it, you can control it within you PHP scripts by adding a default error handler.

It's already all been to the lunarpages mail server since I started here.

We hadn't had any probs with it til today...

Let me amend this- its using abstratica.org as the mailserver, which is lunar... (with a double post :P )

to you it does, but internally @lunarpages the DNS servers handle 'em differently.

on the server it points to localhost if you use mail.xxxxxxx ;).

A forum post should be like a skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

Another thread said the same thing, and implied that its a recent change.

All of the settings info they provided me didn't use the mail prefix, so I didn't use it. Earlier I changed it to mail. just cuz, but since its still occurring I'm taking it back off.
