I guess that rules out the "YMCA/In the Navy" medley I'd planned...

Now, seriously, how much more difficult would it have been to write 'later'?

ROTFL.

considering that English a 1000 years ago wouldn't be understood by todays english speakers, I find that statement funny.

It wasn't technically 'English' a thousand years ago, but I'll let that one slide. ;)

Even about six hundred years ago...has anyone read The Canterbury Tales in Middle English? That was quite the experience...

Now your starting to get into my territory.

It was called Old English, my dear. and yes it was English. That was right before some French speaking Norwegian Vikings took over it from the Danish Vikings and Algo-Saxons.

and yes I did read Canterbury Tales. It was both a pain and refreshing at the same time.

French-speaking Norwegian Vikings? Were those the Normans under William the Conquerer in 1066?

</feels proud that she's descended from William the Conquerer>

Yeah, I'm obviously not the best history student in the world.

So you related to William the Bastard?

that what he was called during his time, but not to his face. :-D

Well history, especially military history, is one of my strong points. the Normans were the first to use the couched lance and the ferocoius charge of the horse warrior to deveasting effect. Before then, horse men would use thoer lances above thier heads and stab downward like using a spear and never at full gallop.

Yep...of course, my family members were Protestant nobles and kinda had to flee to America when the whole crackdown started...

My world history teacher in high school had been teaching since 1970, so I didn't get much of an education.

I can, however, spot a misplaced comma from five hundred feet away thanks to my Grammar Nazi of a freshman English teacher.

If you won't miss your vital organs, sure thing.

We New Jersey natives are not known for being too complacent. When I was grocery shopping in Georgia, some guy offered to put away my cart for me in the parking lot ("Let me give you a hand there, little lady"). I rammed it into his knees and told him to get the hell off my cart.

*downs Nyquil* Yeah. I needed that. :?
