A-ECS : Anti-ECS

I'm sure it's not a gas sniffer <g>
If you look at the used launch platform imho seems it's externally guided.
The second Missile was a RF Type.

ECS: Electronic Camouflage System.

Optical / Probably works with holograms that produce a 3D projection of the surrounding overlayed on the object that needs to be hidden.

Not sure if it incorporates ECM as well.

-Would need a lot of computerpower.
I'm not in for bending light stuff atm. feel free to convince me.

ECCS: Electronic Counter Camouflage System or Sensor.

EMFC: Electromagnetic Flow Control, a experimental technique to enhance submarine acoustic stealth.

How credible is the translation in the manga ? ... yeah they are pro's but after the splat incident I'm not sure they bother to do some checks ..

they translated

SRT: Search and Rescue Team ... (as if the terrorists need a resque)

EMFC: Electromagnetic Fluid Controller..

ECM: Electronic Concealment System

Um, yeah. Some are inaccurate.

SRT = Special Response Team. It specifically refers to the Uruz unit.

EMFC is correct.

I'm pretty sure the "C" in ECS is for "Concealment", by the way. It's not some optical refraction (bending) technology, as far as I can confirm. The technology is quoted to emit a strong smell of ozone while active. Animals can also detect it. ECM is a separate component, not integrated into ECS.

A-ECS is right, Anti-ECS. I forgot how it works according to the novel.

ECCS is correct.

EMFC is right, too. It's because the TDD-1 has all this funky stuff that they call it the "Toy Box."

I found various references on the net talking about "flow" and not "fluid(ic).."
Oh well.

I didn't state it was based on bending, my guess would be optical camouflage which envelops the AS and displays an image of the scene on the opposite using holographic emitters. Kinda the evolved version of TE's link.

ECS:
The sytem works by projecting some sort of distortion around the concealed object. Specific details are not described, but has shown adaptability to sudden and violent changes in ambient conditions, and the ability to see out from within the concealment. The view from within a ECS field is washed out and tinged in violet and red

imho I think this is a load of poo. When it comes to "conventional weapons technology" imho the FMP universe borrows near future tech and enhances it, with the exception of Black Tech.
Now for ECS you can go for the voodoo of Black tech .. or go for near future technology.

IIRC, it was mentioned that ECS is a result of Black Technology. So at least as far FMP is concerned , you have to go the BT route.
