Are we in a weird parallel universe? [New novel detail.]

From what I've seen of those pictures there seems to be only a professional relationship between the pair. One pic seems to show something more but it's one sided because Sousuke looks his usual aloof self.
Sad to see a lack of Kaname but good to see a more darker edgier Sousuke. Hopefully he'll extract some vengeance on Leonard.
It's also good to see Jean Reno make a comeback:

Hahaha, well said. I am pretty soothed, even though some of the shots still make me suspicious. Even just the promo one with Sousuke in the foreground and the girl in the back looking... I don't know, up at the sky etc. That just seems like a typical anime promo, and I've seen the same thing between all kinds of romantic interests, but whatever. I'm satisfied with most of your theories! Sorry if you thought I was taking it to seriously.Jae wrote: The beer/party pic is purely chummy- her body is turned away from him with her boobs nowhere near 'accidental grazing' distance.
I wouldn't dream of ruling out her trying to tangle her fingers in the emotional plot. But.... IMO that would probably mostly just suck, cuz Hey! we've been here before!!.
I also agree with whoever pointed out that if we saw a shot of Sousuke with Kaname's panties, we'd definitely think something was up, but we'd be wrong ^_^.
Major spoilers:
(don't say I didn't warn you)
Nami and Sousuke have nothing going on. In the new book, Sousuke goes to Southeast Asia (I believe, it's been a while since I read it) to find a colleague of his. This colleague is an AS pilot for a sort of Gladitor sport down there: AS fighting. He gets killed by a rival team, so Sousuke joins the team as the new pilot. The reason Nami is hinted at being a Whispered is b/c she is the mechanic of the team, and Sousuke is tipped off by some of the programs she writes for the AS. But nothing is certain...she could just be really smart. Anyway, the pictures of them together...an after party, and Sousuke goes to sit alone. Nami goes over to talk to him, b/c she feels something's wrong. He doesn't say much. The part with Sousuke washing his hair- the rival team that killed the former pilot tries going after Nami, so Sousuke saves her and spends the night with her for safety reasons. I can't remember exactly when, but somewhere along the way he tells her the whole truth of what he's doing, Kaname and everything, so she knows about Kaname and that Sousuke's trying to find her. The guy with the glasses: his name is Michele (french), and he was posing as a reporter, but the last chapter that I read shows that he is much more, and that he may actually be working for a secret society, which he states "is somewhere between Mithril and Amalgum". I need to order the latest issue b/c that's where the story has come to so far.

Thanks for the pictures Jae! Whoo! And thanks for spilling the beans Sj4iy!
The Michelle guy looks like the one out of Ghostbusters, Egon I think his name was I wonder if his glasses are also red
The 12th one down looks like the security guard is making them eat the worlds biggest cookie! And the one after that makes it look like Sousuke is homeless
It sounds like a really good story, is it the one after Continuing on My Own? I look forward to eventually reading it I just hope Kaname makes a comeback ins tyle

I'm interested to know how Sousuke refers to Kaname when speaking to Nami about her. She's my charge or my potential love interest. Hopefully something along the lines of the latter.

I doubt it. Sousuke's not exactly the openly romantic sort.
Anyway, Nami may not APPEAR to have a thing for Sousuke. But you're forgetting some crucial details.
1) Sousuke is a player.
2) Whispered women can't resist him. And Whispered men can't resist hating him and falling for the Whispered women who love him.

Lol...sousuke a player...that's funny
Anyway, as I predicted some time back, Sousuke and Kaname are spending some time apart in order to take the series a step further...
Back then, I proposed that Gatous primary problem was how to continue the story, how to build on to it after taking the leap towards 'breaking with the school setting', suggesting two possible outcomes: The elimination of Amalgam and the retrieval of Kaname within 1- 2 novels, ultimately ending back in the old setting (eg: FMP! would end after 2 novels); or, introduce new and different hardships for them both to go through....which I was rooting for...
With the second choice taken, there would either be a huge thematic change, or a new for the introduction of a new cast (seeing as FMP! has been a mix of highschool/teenage problems and combat, and without a new cast, the teenage stuff would fade away completely) - and well, a thematic change made at the same time as a change of setting is a very farreaching leap, thusly making that solution less probable.
All in all, the introduction of these new cast members isn't so surprising, particularly considering the title 'continuing on my own'...and I'm actually quite happy with the way it's going ^_^

Is it just me, or are there way too many talking decapitated heads around these days?

Given what we know of the newest novel, it doesn't look like Sousuke's going to save Kaname in it. It may take a third or even fourth. That being said, this novel may be about Sousuke's solo adventures to find her. The whole thing seems very Fist-of-the-North-Star-ish to me. But I don't know quite enough of what's going on just yet to decide that.
