Very nice episode. They cut out some of the introspection from the novels, as I expected, but they did a pretty good job of conveying the feelings.

The phone conversation with Kaname ended with an interesting angle. In the novel and Sigma, she seemed pretty mad. Here she was more disappointed than anything. Poor girl.

Hecate or as tze Romans called her Trivia was the Goddess of Magic and / or Goddess of the Crossways.
I think Nemesis comes closest she is the Goddess of Vengeance.

I forget, but doesn't Kurz make a crack about "the goddess of the night" in the novel's Hecate line, making it kinda correct? (Okay, so it's still not too close, but whatever...)

Actually, that whole conversation reminded me quite a bit of evangelion...My guess is that Sousuke has to go through a process where he tears himself away from the command structure and begins to think for himself instead.

But what I'm pondering is if we'll see more internal monologue now?, It's something that's only rarely used in FMP!, the last time it was used by Tessa in episode 2 of TSR...I don't recall Sousuke using internal monologue since the beginning of the first season...

And he'd have to do some thinking for himself to do what Mao says he should do, so that makes me all the more curious as to how these comming episodes will turn out...

the only thing that bothers me is that the car only can drive up to 90 kph
well the car is a alfa romeo 2000 from the sixties.
ok its old but a 2000 can easily go up to 180kph or more
trust me i had driven that model in real-life before.

The car was an old fiat in the novels. It's also depicted quite differently in FMP: Sigma....I'm not sure if there is a picture of it in the novels, but I guess there must've been one in dragon magazine when the novels ran there...

Either way, it's pretty obvious from the version in Sigma that it can't go any faster. Why they've chosen an old alpha romeo rather than a fiat is a good question - it may have to do with licencing rights.

Thing is, there was both a farari and a fiat in both the novel and in sigma - but the farari was eliminated from the anime ep as well...the way I see it, it could be either because they were short on time (they cut Kurtz 'hekate' scene down as well, compared to the trailers) for this ep already, or because fiat and farari are parts of the same corporation of italian cars and a licence to include them couldn't be obtained.

So that last reason would explain it. An alpha romeo runs pretty well in a mideterrainian climate too, so while the car's portoguese (I believe...maybe it's spanish?(edit: bah, so it was itallian...weird, well, just goes as to show you should check things instead of write from memory)), it makes sense to have one in italy. I doubt there are many in Japan though, many models are prone to rust, which, as far as I'm aware, is a far, far bigger problem in japan than on most of the european mainland.

ACK! .. snif Alfa Romeo known for it's 'cuore sportivo is a full blood Italian car.

But i'm not sure it's a 60's Romeo .. been searching for the models and the 1750 and 2000 have round headlights.

Besides they are pretty nifty in circumventing licensing issues by the use of fake brands like Sonny or Coco Cola...
