IRT Taurec: ah, so she is italian?...strange...ah well :-P

IRT Teletha: In the novel, she isn't wearing underwear during this episode...because for that kind of dress, it's apparently impossible without running around with it out in the open (legs go up pretty high)...

It's also a bit of an issue that she doesn't want Kurtz to climb down from the room first, for that reason.

So, bluno mumbling about white panties doesn't really stay true to the novels ;-)

In the novel Sousuke came in to Kurz an Mao's location in the Fiat, so to take them out and get out of there as fast as he could, also to notify of the departure changes in the original plan. In the beginning it would have been a question of why Sousuke came in with the Fiat, but later they were in an emergency and had to escape the mafia. They wouldn't change cars until they were safe, and Sousuke had laden the Fiat with his armaments, so he wouldn't have abandoned the car easily if they were being pursued by armed forces.

@AEmer Actually she comes closer to a Fiat 125 and still Italian. :-D
Prolly a String / Tanga whatever it may be called .. ?? (PITA according to my sources <grin> ) Why did I even bother to answer that??

"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

I suppose that is one viable possibility...

But...HEY!, I don't remember giving..., the Alpha Romeo a gender before!, I smell foul play :-P ... (edit: eep, I was wrong once more...I think I should just leave this thread alone...)

On the other hand..considering they're also high on maintenence, they look stunning next to a nice sunset, and they almost exclusively appeal to a male audience, you may have a point...

No.

And as a general observation: just because he has a cool-sounding codename doesn't necessarily mean that he will have all the cool stuff...

In fact, Wraith may be one of the most uncool characters in the show.

But in his own cool little way. 8)

I'm assuming it's the M9 - Falke

coming back to the car thingy... :D

i watched the episode again.
i'm pretty sure it's a alfa romeo 2000 or a 1750 because it is the same car just with another engine (my fault i did not meantioned it ealier)
the 2000 has a 2000cui engine and the 1750 has a suprise suprise 1750cui enige.

i did not read the novels so i only have the info from the tsr episode.
another thing is that both ferrari and alfa romeo belong the fiat company.

you recognize that this is a alfa at the backlights, the rearview mirros on the side and the "scudetto". that triangular brand-thing at the front.
the animators were not really accurate at that.

here's a picture of a original 2000

scudetto:

oh and i'm not sure but i think there were versions with round headlights and square ones depending on the year of production

errmmm.

I think you mean 2000cc and 1750cc, as in CUBIC CENTIMETERS. A 2000 CUBIC INCH engine is 32.77 LITERS. Somehow I don't think you can fit that in a car that small, unless your using TARDIS technology.

Also the difference between round and rectangular stylized lights was due to different auto regulations in different countries as well as different productions runs. Some countries did not allow the square glass units because the glass was not tempered (those units used replacable blubs similar to what cars use now), ie like the United States. So in those countries they used the older style single unit round or square bulbs.

I remember converting imported Benz' with my dad, and part of the modifications requred was the replacement of the stylized lights with the single unit types.

<grin> .... game on !!

Lemme make my case *takes a gulp of motor oil*

Why it is a Fiat 125
A) When Mao and Kurz approach the car in the anime you can clearly see the two air intakes near the windshield.
http://www.uea.org/bildoj/pub/k1975-proks-Fiat04.jpg
Those intakes are lacking on the alfa's

B) Square headlights and do you notice the seperation in the front indicators this is a huge pointer that it is a 125.
When Sousuke makes a turn into the alley you can see them clearly.

http://www.armin-vogt.ch/images/anz.fiat.125.jpg
a better picture
http://www.tudorsmith.co.uk/IMAGES/Fiat125.jpg

C) Pick one of the above pictures the Fiat 125 has a long chrome strip running from the front to back as seen in the anime.

The 1750 and the 2000 lack that chrome strip.

And to finish it ...

D) Windscreen wipers, on the 125 they point both to the left or right. On a 1750 both wipers point to the inside and so do the wipers on the 2000.

I agree the made a slight error they used the grill of a 125s

I rest my case and leave it to the judges .. ;)
