Bah. That was still one story. They just broke it up into two parts because it was so long. It's not like there was any kind of gap between the two.
“
Yeah, there was, at least 4-5 months (don’t recall the exact dates)…the two books are two separated books – even if it is just one arc, it was written across two books. That’s a different construct than the one used in any of the former arcs…it poses a different writing task.

Nah. I don't think ODBD was just some experiment. If it was an experiment, it would returned to how it was at the beginning of the novel like the prior three novels, instead of developing the characters.
“
Not necessarily. In Japan, it’s not that uncommon to edit and change the script of an anime as the series runs along, if one particular part of it, or one particular character, turns out to be extremely popular…and it’d be outright stupid if a lead producer, as he’s trying out production techniques, does not use the feedback those techniques gives him in order to adapt the script to it –
Same thing goes for Gatoh. If he wishes to develop his abilities as a writer, he must utilize techniques, styles, and concepts he’s not used before, and adapt to that based upon how well it develops. To do a production where one book ends at a location ‘away from home’ so to speak is a big decision if he’s done none of the sort before, and can most certainly be considered experimental even if it still develops the storyline and characters –
Of course it wasn’t ‘just’ an experiment, but I didn’t imply that either.[/ecs]

so you're saying there was no conclusion in COMO with chidori being captured (haven't ready novels yet, just going off spoilers i've heard)

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

I think after BOMF [ecs]the next novel will focus entirely on Kaname. Hopefully she hasn't become like the red headed girl from episode 1. Then hopefully Sousuke can rescue her, run away, and open up a Ramen noodle shop. Otherwise I'll write a fanfic about it. [/ecs]

kaname can have her shop of "very durable fans" next door.... =)
(ok that was pretty bad... but hey i was trying to lean toward fmp!)
@ Weltall and AEmer: Yeah, I kinda just found out that there were short stories after ODBD and DVMC - some of which had already been incorporated into Fumoffu. *sweatdrop* I stand heavily corrected. (Having said that, though, there is the fact that there doesn't seem to be a shorts collection between COMO and BOMF - understandable, and yet a little distressing. Could this be a sign of The End? )
However, I still think it's going to be hard to do a Fumoffu after TSR... Think of the children!

Some of them did happen after ODBD and DVMC. But there were others that weren't covered. Some of them I'd really like to see, but it's likely that we never will.Pyrite wrote:@ Weltall and AEmer: Yeah, I kinda just found out that there were short stories after ODBD and DVMC - some of which had already been incorporated into Fumoffu. *sweatdrop* I stand heavily corrected. There was a story collection released last month. But, the shorts don't occur in the same timeline- obviously the time period between COMO and BOMF isn't exactly suitable for a short.Pyrite wrote: (Having said that, though, there is the fact that there doesn't seem to be a shorts collection between COMO and BOMF
However, they are still being written- or were before right before BOMF. We'll see what happens when BOMF is over (soon).
Now, if or how they might wish or not wish to animate those, and fit them in with the other series (or not fit them in), is another question.
The audience applauded, even though it was not clear what Bush meant.
