"Can I help you?, "you know this section is.." she broke off her sentence as the man walked towards her and nodded, "I think you can Captain".
Tessa looked down, "I haven't been called Captain in 4 years," Wha..what do you want?"
He gave her a devious grin, "I'm here to make sure you keep your promise."

They kept my favorite scene in the ODBD novel!

Man, I wanna make Tessa tearing up an avatar right this very second, but I just gotta work on sizing it.

Yeah, can't miss episode. Your god has arrived, and his name is Cruzo.

Yes, Sousuke was being overly formal to Tessa, which is exactly what he did in the novel, if I remember correctly. This ep was alright, but not as good as I thought it was going to be. I dunno, maybe I was a little put off by how all the shots were framed. I felt like an outsider looking in :P I just wish they had more close-ups, but perhaps this is the way they intended it. Everything was just full of tension. However, in spite of all the ass-kicking, Cruz was pretty cool 8) It seems like he has a good head on his shoulders. Anyways, can't wait for the next ep! I've been waiting forever for that part of the storyline!

I was able to follow the conversation until Tessa started to cry. Something about he should consider her feelings, damn you Sousuke you insensitive jerk. :-P

I can't help to notice though, that Tessa has a really nice office with a really big desk. I bet there's a drawer big enough in that desk for her to hide in. :-D. Merida's command center reminds me of NGE's NERV comm center too.

Yep, the next episode, ep9, will be great. Hope Chidori will do a hot pose with her Taser in a tattered bathrobe.

...so a selfinduced drought of TSR and a few other eps of anime cuz of the US Open...
I guess it could've been worse, but still...

 seems Sousuke + Kaname is obvious to everyone... even Tessa. Beautiful
emotional scene for her... I actually felt some empathy Tessa couldn't
just break down like a normal girl and scream out "I want you too Sousuke!"

Lenardo gets a scene... no face shot. Too bad... face shots are the best
from 400m away  Nvermind what Gates was doing while Lenardo
was yammering away...

McAllen was a wimp, huh? THEM'S FIGHTIN' WORDS!! ...and he's got
the skills to back it up too. It certainly let us know Sousuke's human as well,
which I think was a nice point about the ep: he does have feelings, foibles,
weaknesses, etc like the rest of us... he just doesn't show it very much.

Interesting point about Mithril's command structure: Mediterranean Sector.
What's so interesting there I wonder? And where else would be of interest to Mithril?
Middle East of course, West Pacific (given).... anywhere else?

@Circle
Maybe they share the same interior decorator?

BACK TO THE ACTION NEXT EP! BLOW ME UP A CITY WILLYA!!!

...side complaint, seems none of the other subgroups used the three week
lull to catch up to subbing the series... oh well....

What the heck!? They totally omitted the part about the Arbalest doing some kind of Lambda Driver thing! I think it was something with like using the Lambda Driver to make a bow or something, I didn't get that part in the novel. And what about the omission of Mao and Clouzot talking about the E series and D series M9?! There could have been loads of more AS information. The battle was good, though I wish they would have lengthened it, kind of felt short but with awesome moves never before seen with AS's. And then they said that the Lambda Driver wasn't activated at all which really put off the Arbalest actually using it in the novel. I was hoping for more of a better ending for the battle, like the novel after he used the Lambda Driver, Clouzot using one move to finally finish off Sousuke was disappointing. I was hoping he would get up and use the Lambda Driver, but then he became unconscious...Good episode though.

Clouzot was before a member of the Mediterranean section, the Palhoron. It says here that there is a squadron in the Mediterranean, South Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, and of course the West Pacific Ocean, the Tuatha de Danaan. In the Full Metal Panic! world, the world is different. There seems to be more conflicts like in the manga Seina says that Seiji Takechi came back to Japan after the fifth Middle East war.

Yarh...Sousuke made Tessa cry...serves her right...what, Sousuke is supposed to feel guilty about not being dedicated to the lambda driver because it makes mithrils forces weaker?

Every one of mithrils troopers are there because they're paid...they've chosen to be AS pilots...if Tessa chooses to rearrange her forces in a manner that's highly disturbing to them, they've every right to be pissed off...

So yeah, I gotta love that scene.

Of course even though everyone is paid I'm guessing a lot, everybody will be pissed when one AS unit with a Lambda Driver comes and finishes everyone off. Obviously from the top of Mithril's point of view is that one man's sacrifice can save the squadron, or more.

that was a pretty good episode, gawd i dunno what i would do in souske's position; i would be like CHIDORI........ NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOWWWW; i mean i guess i understand tessa's feelings but at the same time i sorta feel like she is a bit selfish (sorry tessa fans), and man, is it me or was souske holding back? i think he was a bit distracted... i dunno, maybe that's what cloutz (sp?) was saying at the end...

good episode, tho the next one will be SOO much cooler, although i did like this AS fight

Well, I unno. His belief in the chain of command has been so strong that he's been willing to run head first into almost any situation. Pulling a dirty trick like that on him...in the anime, it was pretty obvious he wasn't convinced it wasn't a game of some sort, even after Cluzot struck at him the first time.

The will to fight just wasn't in him.

Well, a superior officer kind of ordered Sousuke to fight, so it was either obey and try to beat up your superior officer, or disobey, not much choices for Sousuke. I wonder if Kurz got any punishments, even though Clouzot wiped him out.
